"Excuse me, Dr. (L/N)!" I heard a woman's voice echoing through the hallway.

"Yes!" I turned around and saw one of my colleagues, Dr. Babinski, running towards me, trying to keep up with my pace.

"I'm sorry for disturbing you, your schedule is probably full!" She apologised and continued.

"A man was looking out for you earlier."

It couldn't be Elon...he was with me earlier. If it was for work they could've just called or left an email. Who could it be?

The confusion on my face was clear, already.

No way, could it be...

"He didn't left a name or a message." Dr. Babinski said and distracted my thought.

"H-how did he looked like?" I asked with a serious deep voice, scared to hear her answer.

Please don't be him.

I was biting my lip and praying to God to not be the person of whom I was thinking about.

"He was very tall, very light brunette hair...." Dr.Babinski started explaining.

No...

"...green eyes and a tattoo sleeve." She finished.
My blood rushed fast through my body and my pulse quickened. It was him. I could feel my face becoming red, my eyes pinned straight to the ground. The anger was still in me, it still haven't left since that day.

"Excuse me, Dr. (L/N)? Are you alright?" The touch of Dr.Babinski's hand took me out of the trance that I was in.

"Uhm, yeah, yeah" I looked at her and pulled a forced smile. "If he comes again, please inform me." I said cold.

"Of course! Have a nice day!" She replied.

"Thanks, you too!" I almost whispered, I furrowed my eyebrows, I just couldn't hide the emotions, which were going through me.

I turned around, walking with fast pace, trying to find the closest exit door to light a cigarette.

*** Year and a half ago***

"No fucking way!" I cursed under my breath.

My eyes were pinned to the screen of the laptop. Were my eyes betraying me, was I seeing clear...All those emails...

"(Y/N)!" I heard Adam's voice behind me. "What the fuck are you doing?!"

I stood up from the chair and faced him.

"What the fuck AM I doing?" I laughed. "The question is what are YOU doing?! Are you selling information on my research to outside people?" I didn't even felt when I started to scream.

My whole integrity and hard work I did was sold like a warm piece of bread. On top of that, my boyfriend did that. Sadness was mixed with anger, not sure which I should show first. My fists were clenched tight and my eyes almost popped out of my skull.

Adam was just standing in front of me. His eyes were wandering around the room, ashamed or scared to look me in the eyes. His face was emotionless, I couldn't read him, which was making me angrier.

"You already know as I can see." Adam said calmly.
"Why?" I questioned him and stepped closer to him.

Again, not a single word from him.

"I asked you why?!" I shouted in his face.

The pain of betrayal, especially from the person you love, was going like a knife through my heart.
