What if my plan doesn't work? This is so stressful. I can already know what she's gonna say. "You're annoying me right now. Claire is my true love and I will not let some bastard take her away from me." Okay, Haley. If Claire's your tRuE LoVe, then why aren't you guys dating right now? Why aren't you married? I just wanna...beat Haley up for breaking her heart. It's not fucking cool.

"Are you angry?", Claire whispered to me. It was 3 in the morning. I couldn't stop thinking about today. I adjusted my pillow and stared at her. "How do you know?", I asked. "Well, you're pinching your pillow hard. And, your breathing is getting tenser." I laughed, "Yeah, I'm mad." She scooted closer to me. "Why?" "Isn't it obvious?", I snapped at her. "The whole...Haley situation. It's making me lose my mind!" She put her palm on my face and started petting it. "It's gonna be okay. Just, say what you wanna say to her." I sat up, "But what if she doesn't listen to me and releases that video?!"

"I'm sure she'll listen to you.", Claire said while also sitting up, "Don't worry. I promise it'll be fine." She kissed me on the cheek.

Today at work, I locked myself in the bathroom so I could practice what I was gonna say to Haley. "So, Haley. You love Claire. Well if you loveeeee Claire then why are- why- um." I slammed my head into the door. "You okay in there, Rosy?", Jimmy said. "Yeah, I'm fine.", I replied. What about Haley's perspective. What does Haley think? It must've hurt knowing you can't be with someone you love. I'm having second thoughts about this. "Don't have second thoughts." I jumped from the toilet seat. "Just do it. When you meet her, you'll know what to say." Who was talking to her? The voice was a bit raspy and deep. "But...How? How am I supposed to know what to say to her?"

The deep-voice sighed, "When you see her face, you'll immediately know. When you think about her perspective with Claire, you'll know." What did that even mean, I thought. "Thanks.", I said. "But..who are you?" "Open the bathroom door to see." I got up from the toilet seat and slowly opened the door. "Mike?" He was smiling, "You were talking to yourself out loud. I just had to help out." He continued, "You know you're not the only person Claire talks to." I looked down on the ground, "Did Claire tell you about this?"

"Obviously. She's been telling me about this stuff since it happened. And I just wanna say..I'm counting on you." That just made me more nervous. But, Mike has never been so nice to me before. He never really..talked to me either. He would just grunt or nod when I asked him a question. "And,", he began, "I'm sorry for ignoring you or not talking to you for the past few weeks. I'm just mad that Haley left, I guess. But the fact that she's doing all of..this, is just wrong."

I nodded, "Yeah. But I'll stop her, somehow."

The rest of the day I was working on Claire's new demo. Well, kinda. I was still thinking about Haley. "Dudushoodudushoo. Yeah, I feel like that should be the beat.", Jimmy said to Eddie. "But I feel like that's too basic, ya know.", Eddie replied. "Wait, what if it's like..dudupooshoodudupooshoo", Claire said. "And then it's like slow, so it's calming.", Jimmy said to them. "I don't know. What do you think, Rosy?", Dijon elbowed me. I winced, "Huh? Oh, I think it's good."

"Ugh, were you even listening?", Claire said. "Uh, yes?....no.", I replied. Everyone groaned. "I'm sorry!", I apologized, "I'm just overthinking." "Stop overthinking, it'll be fine, dude.", Dijon said. "You're right.", I sighed. "Well, well, well! Look at the time! It's time to go.", Eddie said while looking at his new watch. "What's the point of your watch? You have a phone.", Jimmy said to Eddie. "Fuck off.", Eddie said angrily. "It's a limited edition. It's SUPER rare!"

Claire and I got back to my house and I immediately notice the window. "Yep, it's open.", I said to her. "Dang, at least we destroyed it.", she said while unlocking the front door. "Yeah."

We both put down our stuff and jumped on the bed. "Are you still nervous?", she asked me. "Kinda, yeah." She put both her hands on my shoulders. "You can do it." I kissed her on the lips. The kiss quickly turned into a make-out. Claire put her arms around my neck and pushed me down onto the bed. "Take off your shirt." "H-huh?" "Come on, take it off." I slowly took my shirt off, confused. "What're you doin-" She interrupted me with another kiss. Claire also took off her shirt.  Her lips started on mine, and slowly onto my neck. "Didn't I tell you guys you couldn't do that shit?"

I opened my eyes. "FUCK! Haley, you can't barge into homes!" "But you knew I was coming.", Haley snickered. "So I'm technically not barging in." "Shut the fuck up Haley. You're sick!", Claire yelled while putting her shirt back on. "Hey, you want me to call off the 8 pm thing or not!" I sat up, "That wasn't Claire that texted you." "Then who was it?" I gulped, "It was me. I wanted to talk to you." I guess I have to start four hours early, I thought. "Okay. Hurry up and tell me." I put on my shirt and stood up. "Let's go outside."

"We're outside. Now tell me!", Haley commanded. "Okay, jeez.", I replied, "Tell me about your love with Claire." She sighed, "Well, I loved her very much, and she loved me too. It was going so well until our jobs got in the way." I looked up at the sky. "But you two worked together, how did it get in the way?" She closed her eyes, "I always worked, I never hung out with her. I didn't even bother talking to her. Then one day, I said something horrible to her, which I regret saying." I looked back down. "What'd you say?"

"I don't need you." "Oh. That is pretty harsh." Haley rested her back on the wall, "Yeah. But she still loves me."

"No, she doesn't.", I said. "E-excuse me?", Haley shouted. "It's weird because you're the one that broke her heart. Honestly, Claire should be the one doing this, not you.", I continued, "You left her. You left her because you didn't love her. And guess what, she accepted it and got over it." Haley grabbed my shoulders, "She still loves me. I KNOW IT."

"Then why aren't you guys dating?", I asked, "Is it because she doesn't love you? If you guys loved each other, you would be together. But since she didn't like you, you decide to make a compromise." "AND GUESS WHAT? SHE ACCEPTED IT!", Haley replied. "IT'S BECAUSE SHE FELT BAD FOR YOU. HALEY FUCK YOU'RE CONTROLLING HER! YOU'RE CONTROLLING HER LIFE!", I yelled at her. I calmed myself for a few seconds, "Look if you really love her, you wouldn't be doing this." Haley was flustered. "What? Yes, I would! I love her so much that I don't want anyone else to be with her." I sighed, "No."

"If you loved her...if you loved her you would respect her decision. You would accept the fact that she doesn't love you anymore. You would accept the fact that she loves someone else. If you really loved her..you would let her go." Haley had tears in her eyes. "I...guess you're right." She took out her phone and played the video of me kissing Claire without consent. She pressed..delete.

I went back to the house and looked at Claire. "What happened?" I smiled, "I did it. It's over."
