Yena moved from Hong Kong to korea at the age 13 in 2012 and her korean vocabulary was limited because she spoke Chinese most of her life so moving to korea was very big for her. In 2013 at the age of 14 she was street casted by Yuehua entertainment with zero skills but still decided to go. Her mother was very against it because she didn't want her child to live in that kind of lifestyle but finally give up and let her join Yuehua entertainment.
