I opened the door to my room, sighing.
After my midnight cocoa with Chan I had a lot to reflect upon.
My future. Their past. Everything that could possibly go wrong with them.
But somehow, my conversation with Chan seemed to give me an intense sense of calm. Like everything was going to be okay. So as I lied down, my mind drifted off to a much deserved sleep.
The next morning the brightness of the sun woke me from a somewhat comforting dream.
I turned in my new bed to see a man laying facing me on the other side.
"Morning." He smiled at me.
I nearly had a heart attack.
"Good morning Jeongin." I smiled back, trying to calm down from the sudden shock.
"I was told to come and inform you that we will be having breakfast soon and that you should get ready!" He sat up.
"I see." I sat up as well.
"Well then, see you soon!" He got up and left the room with a cute smile on his face. Come to think of it, I don't believe I've ever seen him not smiling?
I got up from the bed, stretching and yawning while walking lazily to my INCREDIBLE closet.
What does one wear to breakfast in a mansion with a group of vampires?
And what exactly was I going to do on a Sunday?
I mean. they probably wouldn't let me outside. So I'm not going to worry about weather.
I picked out a casual outfit just in case and called it a day.
I made my way to the living room without any scary dudes jumping out at me. Which at this point I count as a win.
Most of them were sitting in their seats.
I sat down, greeting them with a smile.
The table had an array of really delicious smelling food.
"Good morning, Dahae. I hope you slept well?" Chan grinned.
"I did thank you." I dug into my food.
The boys spoke amongst themselves, being rowdy as usual.
I was lost in thought staring down into my plate when my attention was abruptly redirected.
"Hey, Dahae?" Jeongin called.
"Oh- yes?" I looked up at him.
"In what order do we get to hang out with you?" He questioned with the cutest smile.
"Huh... I don't really know." I furrowed my eyebrows thinking.
"I have an idea!" Jisung raised his hand across the table. "What if you hang out with three of us a day, breakfast to lunch then lunch to dinner then dinner till whenever, and we decide the order with a game!"
"I guess that sounds reasonable, what game were you thinking of?" I responded.
He paused for a moment. They all began whispering to each other in thought.
"How about a simple race? First place wins the fair maiden." Minho rested his head in his hand with a smug look on his face. Correction, the only look he ever has on his face.
"That sounds pretty fair. I was thinking maybe dice or rock paper scissors but okay." I shrugged.
"Excellent, lets get started." Chan stood up, directing everyone to the back of the mansion.
Wait, where are they going?
The door opened to a huge open area behind the house. It was a gigantic grass area leading into the forest.
So it's official, we are completely surrounded by trees.
There was a moderately sized patio with a few pieces of furniture. Which is where I sat as the boys lined up.
"First one to the oak and back wins." Chan announced. "Oh, and Jisung? No shape shifting."
"Fine~" Jisung groaned.
"Dahae, would you mind starting us off?" Hyunjin winked.
I fought the urge to aggressively roll my eyes.
"Sure." I cleared my throat. "Three... Two... One...GO!"
They all took off at an inhuman speed. Like they were riding motorcycles or driving race cars.
I was shocked that they could run so fast. I thought they only had one power each? I guess vampires are full of surprises.
Before I knew it, they were back. One by one almost immediately after each other.
"Looks like I win." Hyunjin swept a hand though his hair, not a drop of sweat on his body.
How the fu-
"That is so not fair! You're too fast even for us." Jeongin was pretty much wrecked. I guess running isn't his thing. Even if he could probably win any other race against a human. In a car.
"That is too bad for you. Unfortunately, you are the ones that signed up for this." He sat down on a chair with a smug grin.
"Well, Hyunjin aside, what exactly is the order? I couldn't quite tell." I smiled awkwardly. Who knew super speed could be so confusing to watch.
"It was me, Chan, Changbin, Felix, Minho, Jisung, Seungmin, and then little baby Jeongin." Hyunjin smiled in victory.
What a dweeb.
"I heard that." He narrowed his eyes at me.
"Yeah whatever. Lets just get this over with." I stood with a sigh. "You guys did great by the way. Thank you!" I smiled and waved at the pile of sweaty boys.
