I can't help but to feel pity while looking at my cousin who's crying her heart out just because she caught her boyfriend cheating on her.
"Shh... tahan na Bri." At eto namang isa ay inaalo pa siya. "Baka hindi talaga siya yung para sayo." I rolled my eyes at what she said.
Aba! damang-dama pa ng gaga ang pagpapayo. Eh niminsan nga eh hindi pa siya nagka-jowa.
"Tangina kasi eh. Ano pa bang kulang sakin. Ginawa ko naman lahat para bumagay sakanya. I even change myself just to be worthy on him and his family's eyes pero wala, pinagpalit niya parin ako!" I hear my other cousin—Molly— tsked and when i look at her she's shaking her head like she is disappointed on something.
"Hayst Brita, binalaan na kita about sa magaling na lalaking yan and yet nagpauto ka parin" Molly flip her long straight hair and roll her eyes. "Pero iyon mas pinili mo parin ang magpakatanga" I cheer for Mol in my mind and eat the popcorn i am holding.
Molly is a little bitchy and always pikon. She have a habit to flip her hair everyfucking three minutes.
"Bars!" Melina said supporting Molly statement. She even do some handgesture like she's a gangster. Mel is really boyish and always love to mock us with her 'pangkanto' words and gesture.
"Tigilan niyo nga si Britta. Kita niyong broken na yung tao and yet oinagtutulungan niyo pa" Said by Mari. The only angel on our family. Mari is always mahinhin and composed. She never raised her voice on everyone. She's also smart.
Britta is sill crying and looks like that we—Mari will have a hard time to stop her from crying like a baby.
She's so loud and this apartment is not even soundproof. Hindi niya man lang naisip kung may magagambala kami sa pagpalahaw niya na iyak. College palang kami pero grabe siya kung ma-broken feeling mo dala niya lahat ng problema sa mundo.
Pero sabi nga nila 'walang pinipiling edad ang pag-ibig' ano yun kahin fetus or infant ka palang pwede ka parin umibig? Amputek na quotes yan. Napakabobo.
"It's true naman. Britta is such a fool for thinking na magbabago ang babaerong iyon. Once a cheater is always a cheater" I said giving her a disappointing look. "Ilang beses na kitang sinabihan tungkol jan sa pambababae ni Joshua pero wala, inilaban mo pa rin yung motto mo na to see is to believe. "Wag kang tanga ghorl. Minsan gumamit ka rin ng utak, hindi yung puro puso"
She's so nakaka-bwisit na kasi. Pagkatapos niya kaming hindi paniwalaan eto siya at iiyak-iyak sa harap namin.
I even send her a picture of her boyfriend kissing some bimbo in the club, tapos ako pa yung lumabas na masama. That i edit the picture daw since she still thinking that i like Joshua—which is not true because Joshua was just my classmate in High School at kaya lang kami magkasama noon is because of our group project. Napaka-tanga talaga.
"Wala kang alam Mary! He promised me na magbabago siya, tangina umasa ako don eh" Parang bata na naman siya na humahagulhol at sumalampak pa sa Hermes Carpet na regalo kay Molly ng Jowa niya. "Palibhasa hindi ka pa nagmamahal"
I want to laugh at her answer. Tangina bakit ba kasi ang daming naniniwala sa mga pangako na 'yan. Eh promises are meant to be broken nga.
"At naniwala ka naman. Britta how many times do i have to tell you that..in the end Promises are just words" Narinig ko ang oag-agree ng mga pinsan ko sa aking sinabi.
"Masyadong mabigat 'yon beh" I rolled my eyes at Meli. She always like to be second in motion. Napaka-pabida ng gagang 'to. Sinaway naman siya ni Mari habang patuloy parin hinahaplos ang likod ni Britta.
Tumayo na ako at kinuha ang susi ko sa coffee table. "I will go na" I look at them and they just nod. But i suddenly stop when i remember something or someone. "By the way Bri" Lumingon ako sakanya and looks like i got her attention too. "Just a piece of advice. If you want Joshua to live long don't tell what he did on the boys 'cause you know what will happen next"
Lumabas na ako dahil rinding-rindi na ako sa boses sa loob. Mai-inlove ng sobra tapos iiyak-iyak pag niloko. Hayst..sana naman magtanda na si Britta.
Nagpunta ako sa convinience store na kaharap ng apartment at doon nagmukmok.
It's past twelve in the morning. I should be sleeping right now kung hindi lang nagmukmok iyong pinsan namin na laging broken. Nawala tuloy ang antok ko. Kaasar. I buy a can of beer and drink it straight. Kailangan pag-uwi ko sa bahay ay may tama na ako para diretso tulog nalang.
Tommorow is my first day of being a Third Year College and also my first day in my new University. Nagdecide akong lumipat ng school malayo sa mga pinsan ko since i want a new environment. And the new environment i'm thinking doesn't include them.
Lumipat ako sa may Crest University. It is located in the City and 30kilometer away from here. It's also a good thing na maaga 'kong naisip ang mag-transfer dahil nakahanap ako ng apartment na malapit lang sa Uni.
My mom doesn't want my Idea at first but because of my stubborness she agree.
I finish my beer but a dizziness didn't even strike me. I get up from my seat and get my second can. I paid it to the counter and the cashiere just nod at me, since he kow me naman dahil lagi ako dito nakatambay.
I'm on my fifth beer when i started to feel dizzy kaya naman tumayo na 'ko at nag-drive na pauwi ng bahay.
I awakened from my deep slumber when i feel someone's breath in my ears. I raised my left hand to slap that person and i made sure that i put a force on it.
"Aray!" I opened my left eye and found my younger brother—Steel-holding his cheek.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him with my sleepy tone. I'm so sleepy talaga. Tangina bakit ba kasi ako tumungga ng limang bote. Gusto ko pang matulog.
"You told me to waked you up at Four in the morning so i did" I just nod and wait for his next statement. "You should thank me, but instead you slapped my god gift face" Tuluyan na akong nagising and rise up from my bed. I strecth and yawn before i face my brother that currently throwing his tantrums on me.
"Get out" Para siyang nabigla sa sinabi ko but when he finally recovered from it, he throw me his dagger look.
"What?!"
"Are you deaf?" I said pointing him. I love to piss him 'cause he's cute when he get irritate or annoy on someone or something.
Namumula ang buong mukha niya hanggang sa leeg. Even his ears are also red and his forhead are crumpled.
"You're welcome ha" Mataray na sabi nito and he rolled his eyes at me. Parang bakla.
After i fixed myself and my things ay tumulak na ako paalis. I didn't bother to wake them up since alam naman nila kung saan ako pupunta and i'm pretty sure the Steel will tell them about my early leave.
I stared at the road infront of me. It still dark and crowded by trees. I still have two hours to drive.
This day will be a long one.
