Chapter 13 (Flashback Chapter)

~ Eren's P.o.v ~
~Seven years ago~

"Erin wake up honey," my mother said as she sat down on my bed next to me. I sat up slowly and rubbed my eyes. She smiled at me and I smiled back. "Let's go down stairs, daddy made breakfast" I quickly got out of bed and ran downstairs. When I got to the kitchen I hugged him from behind tightly.

"Good morning daddy!"He smiled at me." Good morning sweetheart" I sat down at the table and waited for him to finish breakfast. Mommy sat next to me and daddy sat in front of. Mom was reading the newspaper so I looked over at it and.. "Mommy can I have that! Please!" I pointed at the fire truck on the paper. "Erin that's a boys toy" I crossed my arms "says who?!"

Both my parents sighed, "Erin don't you want a doll instead?" dad asked me. "NO!" Cars are so cool why would I want a doll? "Honey don't yell at your father!" I pouted and turned my head the opposite direction, looking out the window. I didn't eat breakfast that morning. I was to mad at my parents. They never let me play with the same toys as my friends.

My best friends names are Armin, Jean, Berthold and Reiner. We always play together but sometimes they say I can't play with them because I'm a girl and they're going to do boy stuff. I Wana be a boy like them. Girls are boring. Mom wants me to play with Historia but she doesn't like me. Because I don't want to play princesses with her. She likes soccer though but she cries to easily when she falls.

I don't feel like I belong with the girls, but I have nothing against them. I looked at my mom again and she was eating and so was my dad so I decided to go out and play. I ran up to my room and put on jeans and a hoodie. I then put my hair in a bun and pulled the hood over my head. As I ran down the stairs and out the front door I yelled a quick goodbye to my parents and hurried to Armins house to play with him.

I knocked on his door and after a few seconds he opened and smiled at me. "Erin! Hi!" I smiled at him. "Wanna go outside and play by the river?"He nodded and put on his bots. We walked to the river and Armin brought a book and a paper. He is really smart and he knows how to make a paper into a boat! When he was done he put it down in the river and it started drifting away.

We ran after it to see how long it could float. Eventually a small waterfall came and it got water in it, so it sunk. He grabbed a stick and tried to pick it up so he could throw it in a bin. He then showed me his book. He told me about the ocean. "Wow! Let's go there!" He sighed. "we can't it's to far away and my grandpa doesn't have a car." I sighed to knowing that my parents couldn't take me there either because they didn't have time.

We planned to go see the ocean when we grow up instead. I asked my parents if I could have a sleep over att his house and they said yes so I headed home to pack my stuff and then met him at his house. His grandpa made us dinner and then we watched a movie. We watched free willy. It was his favorite movie. I liked it to but action movies are better.

In his room we built a fort with blue blankets that we were pretending was the ocean. I crawled under the blankets and looked at Armin. "No Erin you can't have your eyes open! In the ocean there is salt water so it would hurt" I closed my eyes and let out a fake scream as I held my eyes.

We started laughing and then his grandpa told us to get ready for bed. We brushed our teeth and put on pyjamas. We slept in the fort and when we woke up I had to go home after breakfast. Before I left we made a promise. "Armin promise you'll go see the ocean with me ok?" He nodded. "Of course! I promise!" we even pinky promised.

We hung out almost every day and we never forgot our promise but one day Armin was carrying a box towards his car. Later that day I heard from my parents that he was moving. Moving across the whole country. He didn't keep his sid eof our promise but I can't blame him. It's not his foult. At least now he will be closer to the ocean and he has a chance to see it.
