Charlie Swan didn't think that he'd be getting a call from the high school of the twins's second week of school but even if he did, he didn't think that he'd be getting a call saying that an accident had happened and that his eldest daughter had been rushed to the hospital, but yet he did and without much warning to the rest of the station, he quickly got in his cruiser and rushed to the hospital.

His heart in his mouth and the worst thought in his mind, he thought on calling Renée and telling her what had happened but he knew that when it came to Cassie and her health they needed to know everything to a tee before informing the other.

His feet carried him to the front desk of the hospital, his features wild with worry, "Cassie Swan..." he stated in a tone that sounded more like a plea than a question. "She's still in surgery Chief." the lady at the front desk replies grimly.

Whilst everyone knew that the Chief's daughters had returned home, everyone also knew that Cassie was quite the fragile, health wise, child that the Chief worried most, not that he didn't worry about Bella but that Cassie was literally a walking timebomb, especially with the news that he'd been given that weekend about Cassie.

Charlie looked at the woman dejectedly but nodded, making his way, rather sluggishly towards the waiting room, one of his hands running through his hair, messing it up more than it already was. He should be used to this, Cassie was had been rushed into hospitals more times than not in her 17 years of life.

He knew that Bella would no doubt be rushing to the hospital after school, the moment she was let out of school. Or maybe even then, their strange twin bond messing with his head a lot over the years, so much so he never knew what one of truly feeling or if it was influenced by their connection.

Just like Charlie predicted, the ever clumsy Bella Swan entered the hospital, her face showcasing nothing but pure fear, her backpack nearly falling from her shoulder and her coat had been thrown on recklessly. It was in one of those time that Charlie, and Renée, could see that Bella cared more about her twin's safety and health than her own, since Charlie had no doubt that she had sped there not caring about the rules.

"I-Is she? How?" Bella sputtered as she reached Charlie, sounding so unlike her, one of her hands rose to her chest, resting over her heart while the other one pushed her hair back and away from her face.

The conversation that the twins had earlier that day ringing in her ears, causing her throat to close slightly, her own earlier words sounding like a taunting premonition now.

"We don't know, she's still in surgery." Charlie told her, pulling her down to the uncomfortable plastic chair next to him.

Cassie was one thing that Charlie and Bella could talk about without getting awkward, according to everyone else that is, both of them ranting about how worried they were about her, both of them acting like first time parents each time that Cassie coughed or sneezed.
