You have to know that Korean have to ways of counting numbers you'll probably think -what screen have to systems oh my God's heart . Well don't worry it's not that bad.
Also don't worry I won't bother you with the story if you want to know the story by the way you can search it on Google.
To learn every number you ever need to know in the screen counting system, you only need to memorize 18 number!
That's right! Learn to set of numbers 1 to 10 plus the words from hundred ,thousand ,ten thousand and a few increments after that and you can create all the other numbers easily through simple combinations.

For example, 10 in Korean is 십 (sip). It's windy in Crane is literally "two-ten" (이십 ilsip ) 30 is "three-ten" (삼십 samsip) and so on .

Likewise , 100 in Korean is 백 (baek) while 200 is "tho-hundred" ( 이백 ibaek ) and so on

First let's focus on the sets of numbers 1 - 10 which we like to call "The magic 10" because once we have them memories we can use them to create new numbers out of - just like magic !they are also called Sino-Korean numbers or the Chinese numbers

ONE 일 (il)
TWO 이 (i)
THREE 삼 (Sam)
FOUR 사 (sa)
FIVE 오 (o)
SIX 육 (yug)
SEVEN 질 (chil)
EIGHT 팔 (pal)
NINE 구 (gu)
TEN 십 (sib)
Just make sure to memorize those first set of 10 numbers before progressing in this lesson ! Take your time and memorize it now.

Got them?

OK now is the time to learn the eights numbers who are coming.we're going to use those to count to a billion and beyond.

ONE HUNDRED 백 ( baek)
ONE THOUSAND 전 (cheon)
TEN THOUSAND 만 (man)
ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND 십만 (simman)
ONE MILLION 백만 (baengman)
TEN MILLION 전만 (cheonman)
ONE HUNDRED MILLION 일억 (ireok)
ONE BILLION 십억 (sibeok)

if you know those than let's continue and don't forget to take your time

Tentative Korean number system

For the native Korean number system those numbers are a little bit more difficult , then the other way that we just saw.

The first number in the notes of cream number system is 하나 (hana) , which is shorter to 한 (han) when counting in Korean .

To make it easy to remember is the native court number system, consider that 한국 (hanguk) main "Korean". They have the same first syllable!

It's best to start just number 1 to 4 in the beginning as those are what do you use the most often. Luckily those four numbers are some of the easiest to learn and have fewer syllables .

ONE 하나 (Hana)
THO 둘 (dul)
TREE 셋 (set)
FOUR 넷 (net)

After you are comfortable with those numbers ,move on to learn the numbers all the way to 10!

FIVE 다섯 (daseot)
SIX 여섯 (yeoseot)
SEVEN 일곱 (ilgop)
ACHT 여덟 (yeodeol)
NINE 아홉 (ahop)
THEN 열 (yeol)

Trough sets of numbers goes all the way up to 99 ,you will rarely ever use numbers greater than 10 with native Korean number system.
The exception will be saying your age or hearing others peoples age so it is suggests you learn the numbers 20,30 and any order that it's necessary for seeing your age.

With the exception of those numbers you'll often do you Korean just using the simple Sini-Korean name system when counting large numbers so it really isn't necessary to learn the other unless you wish to for personal knowledge are the rare exception.

Now the most of you will probably ask "How I know which system to use? "

The two systems are used a different times and for different purposes. One system will be used at a given time, opening on the purpose of communication. The only exception were the two of systems are mixed for is telling the time. We say the hours using the native Korean numbers and the minutes using the Sino-Korean numbers!

De Sino-Korean number system is used for time (minutes), units of time , The names of months, money, phone numbers ,measurements ,and so much more.

The native Korean number system is used for counting things and people, age, time (hours) and for counting in general
