His Queen

"Kore, kindly listen to your father" her mother's voice was trembling as she spoke to her daughter. Kore spoke up, "why did father restrict me to go to the meadows? Why does he get to make decisions for me, mother?" Her mother sighed and said, "He only wants what is best for you. We both want you safe." Kore looked at her mother in disbelief, "safe from what? Both you and father have been keeping secrets from me!" Kore stood up from her bed and stormed out of the room, leaving her mother in complete silence.

Kore kept running until she felt the flowers and grass beneath her feet. The familiar scent of the place made her happy. She was back at the meadows, this was the first time that she disobeyed her father, Zeus.

A few hours later, Kore found herself following bunnies into the forest. "I should stop following them now. Their home must be farther away" she mumbled to herself. She looked back and realized that she had gone too far, she couldn't see the meadows anymore. Kore started walking back, more aware of her surroundings now. She felt someone watching each move she made. In fear, she ran. She ran until her feet throbbed. Kore sighed as she was back at the meadows.

She took deep breaths to calm herself. She picked up some flowers that she could give to her mom. She suddenly heard a familiar voice that sent chills to her body. "I see... you came back" Hades spoke as he leaned back on his chariot. Kore just stared at him. Hades took a step forward which made Kore take a step back. He chuckled and turned invisible. Kore just stood there, shocked at what she had seen.

Hades reappeared behind her and swiftly pulled her into a hug. "Be my queen and I will make sure that no one upsets you ever again" He whispered to her ear. "Leave me alone!" She said in despair. Hades lets her go but he casted a spell on her. Kore's vision darkened as she fell. Hades was fast enough to catch her. He carried her to the chariot and made his way back to the underworld.

Kore woke up sweating. She stood up from the throne she was placed on. She looked around. The place was lit by the big skull chandelier hanging from the ceiling. She observed the place more.
All the hair on her body stood up as Hades hugged her from behind. "Greetings my queen. Welcome to the underworld. This is all ours, my love." Kore cringed from his words, "will you atleast apologize for abducting me?" She asked nervously.

Hades grabbed the flowers behind him. He let go of Kore then reached the flowers towards her. The flowers were slowly dying in his hands. "You dropped these earlier," he mentioned. Kore responded by saying "you did not have to pick them up." Kore took the flowers from him. The flowers then bloomed and revealed more colors. "I-I wanted to" Hades stuttered as he stared at Kore in awe.
