As I walked down the hall with Kareem on my shoulder I got all types of looks from girls passing us.
"I swear one day ima bash a bitch head in the wall" I said speeding up my walk so his arm would drop off my shoulder. "Like do they not realize we just friends?"
Kareem and I have known each other since 6th grade but we became close our Senior year, well this year. Kareem is the cliche basketball player, with all the females drooling over him and all the niggas wanting to be him. He's from Chicago and you know girls loooveee an out-of-state nigga.
Kareem slides on almost every pretty girl he sees and a lot of people think we have something going when in reality he be putting me down on the all the hoes, girls and boys. He really just my best friend and I could never mess with him knowing how many girls he's been in."Ion even know why you be letting em get to you" He said trying to catch up with me.
Maybe he had a point but still I don't deserve dirty looks for walking with a friend.
As we entered our math class we took our usual seats, far left row beside the window with a clear view of the board, door and teachers desk.I set my stuff down and walked back out the classroom hoping to see my homegirls.
"Oaks !" I snapped my head in the direction of my name seeing one of my girls, Kiya.
"heyy girlll heyyyy" I said giving her a hug while Kareem joined us along with his entourage.
Kiya side eyed and I tried to ignore it. Kiya swears me and Kareem belong together and that he will drop his hoe ways for me.
Little does she know we've been there and tried that. Kareem was trying to get with me back in August, at first i was against it but eventually gave in just for him to pop out with another girl. Honestly I wasn't even hurt because it was expected and I wasn't going to take him serious. I'm happy we're just friends now but he'll never get the chance to treat me like ima piece of shit ever again. (LMFAAOO if you know you know)We spent a few minutes in the hallway chatting it up until the warning bell rung letting everyone know the classroom doors were about to close in two minutes.
As I walked into class I noticed a brown skin boy sitting in the seat in front of me. I turned to Kareem watching him to greet the boy.
"Damn nigga what you doing here?" Kareem said dapping him up.
As they conversed I took my seat, i'm not too fond of being social at this school. I took out my notebooks and everything I would need for the class today. The last bell rang and I looked around noticing Carter was missing. As if on cue Carter's voice sounded off."Come on Mrs.B, I'm barely late you really gonna make me walk to the office"
I shook my head this was a normal thing for Carter, never on time even though his previous class is in the same building.
"Either a pass or detention Mr.James" our teacher said closing the door.
I turned my attention back to the new boy though it wasn't much to see since he sat with his back faced me and he was still conversing with Kareem. I decided to look out the window and ended up day dreaming until the lunch bell rang.
****
The last bell of the day rung dismissing students from class. The hallways filled quickly and i tried my best to keep from bumping into others.
Catching up with Kiya and Nina we started our daily walk to the food truck lot. I plugged in my earphones not really in the mood for talking. There wasn't anything wrong talking was just something i didn't wanna do. Smoke Break by chance the rapper played lowly in them. A flood of memories rushed through my head as we continued walking. I had completely zoned out by the time we reached to the funnel cake truck.
