San raised his head. Unbelievably cold stare of his black eyes met the fearful one in the distance. He grinned, feeling the satisfaction slowly rise inside him. He hasn't even blinked for once, depth of darkness in his iris growing stronger and stronger.
An animal-like squeak pierced the serene night silence in the dark street of an old city. Black shadow streaks began to reach San after a while, an overwhelming pleasure filled his body.
"Try to escape my little one. I hate easy tasks." a soft chuckle left his lips, hearing how his prey is trying to fight with the pain inside her. Once she stood up, her spine started to twist slowly.
"P-please... just k-kill me... I know I doubted faith my Lord... have m-mercy..." she struggled so much to form this one sentence, a whine full of pain started to form in her throat but stopped suddenly. An unexpected grip around her neck tightened, second by second becoming impossible to handle. Echoing sound of bones being crushed, and larynx being smashed was such a pleasure for San.
Girl's body twitched convulsively signalizing her death, blood started to cover it at a dizzying pace. San's play wasn't over, now when his hand was literally holding the body by the spinal cord, he pulled it to the side aggressively.
The whole spine broke away from the body, stripes of flesh still hanging on it in few spots.
"As you wish my princess." San growled, licking the spine from top to bottom. He let the blood slowly drip from his chin, dirtying his black attire and the ground beneath him.
As usual, condensed fog was hanging low upon the streets of Inexus. Musty smell of rotten flesh, mixed with oil and alcohol filling the air, attracted an unwanted company. Starving dogs that were commonly wandering the streets, started coming closer to San baring their fangs. He narrowed his eyes stepping back.
"Pathetic creatures. Scavenging on someone's effort, disgusting." He hissed, but decided to show some mercy by leaving them the corpse. Dogs immediately got to it, seeing such a feast given them for free.
"Cats are such gentleman's... comparing to these peasants." He sighed going past the hounds, directing his footsteps towards the Grand Cathedral that was placed in the center of the city, towering upon its structures.
Moonlight made gargoyles and fleurons adorning its pinnacles glisten weakly in the silvery tones. Its impressive facade accompanied by countless towers with diaphanous spires was a pleasure for San's Gothic artistic flair.
Reaching the huge doorway he stopped for a second to admire the red moon's reflection in the rosette surmounting the entrance. He chuckled softly, a weak smile appeared on his face exposing his blood-stained canines.
"When the red moon hangs low, the line between man and beast is blurred." San whispered to himself, that thought was lurking around his mind for weeks. He knew something's going to happen, and he was waiting for it eagerly. That something will change the way two worlds were existing safely, apart from each other.
Furthermore, it will turn out to be the otiose curiosity that made the real and evil collide.
