Songs: three days grace: I hate everything about you.
The fray: how to save a life

Steven was scared, scared and frustrated. He was currently being escorted to the homeworld courtroom by his assigned Zircon, to stand trial for his mother's crimes. None of this was even his fault! But he had to protect everyone As he got closer, he could start to hear someone...singing.
"Every time we lie awake
After every hit we take
Every feeling that I get
But I haven't missed you yet
Every roommate kept awake
By every sigh and scream we make
All the feelings that I get
But I still don't miss you yet
Only when I stop to think about it
I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU
WHY DO I LOVE YOU
I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU
WHY DO I LOVE YOU"
Steven was very surprised to hear this kind of music. It was intense and full of emotion...and was a very deep voice...were there male gems? But then again, Jasper had a pretty masculine voice...so maybe it just belonged to a beefy gem. His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of Blue Diamond's voice.
"SELENE! What is the matter with you?! You know that I don't want to feel angry right now! I need to mourn and be sad. Sing something appropriate!"
"Ah...I...I'm sorry my diamond...please forgive me." She had a lovely velvet voice when she spoke, but a voice that sounded numb. Then, her voice changed when she began to sing a different song.
"Step one, you say we need to talk
She walks, you say sit down it's just a talk
She smiles politely back at you
You stare politely right on through
Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left, and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
You begin to wonder why you came
Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
Let her know that you know best
'Cause after all you do know best
Try to slip past her defense
Without granting innocence
Lay down a list of what is wrong
The things you've told her all along..."
Steven finally reached the courtroom, and was surprised at the source of the voices that were singing. Standing at the feet of the diamonds was a stunningly beautiful gem. She had a defined but slender jaw, and strong cheekbones, with midnight blue skin that was complemented by her hair. She had soft, smooth, cotton-white tresses that reached the middle of her back. She was tall and slender, but also toned at the same time. Her gem was located over her heart, and it was one that Steven had never seen before. It was a shiny, white, egg-shaped gem with a dark blue stripe cutting through it diagonally.

Steven was broken from his observant trance when he heard Yellow Diamond. "Uug. Selene...must you be so melodramatic? It doesn't matter anyways....the "accused" has arrived..." she then clapped her hands together, commanding her pearl. "...put her away." "Yes my Diamond." Yellow Pearl moved in towards the gem, but her efforts were thwarted when Selene jerked away from her. "No! Please! Don't put me back in there!" Steven's face contorted as he wondered what she was so afraid of. Yellow Diamond let out an irritated sigh as she put her finger and thumb on the bridge of her nose. After a few more minutes of Selene begging and dodging, Yellow Pearl finally managed to get a grip of her. "You...*pant*...need to...*pant*...get in your case!" The Pearl argued. "No...please...I...I...I...can't keep living like this...I..." Selene ripped out of Pearls grasp and sprinted for the door. Suddenly, Yellow turned towards the door, anger in her eyes. "SELENE! WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR YOUR INSUBORDINATION!" With that, she shot Selene with a yellow beam...and Steven watched in horror as the terrified gem screamed in pain...and poofed.

As soon as her gem hit the floor, Yellow pearl picked her up, and walked to the corner of the room. In that corner, there was a large see-through container-like structure with four walls, a diamond shaped hand scanning pad, and black curtains on the outside. Inside was a broken mirror, and a red chaise lounging chair, with a matching throw pillow. Yellow Pearl placed her hand on the scanner, turning it yellow and opening the door. Once inside, she gently placed the white gem on the red throw pillow, then exited and closed the door. Steven looked at the gem, and the pillow she was on...and quickly realized that she was indeed in a display case...and was poofed for trying to escape her captivity. "I am so sorry my Diamond!" Yellow Pearl cried. "You're fine, Pearl. She was being...difficult again. Let's just get this over with."
After getting an actual look at Steven, Yellow had an almost disgusted look on her face as she leaned closer. "Is THAT Rose Quartz?! Look at this HIDEOUS form she's taken. Forget the trial, we should shatter her just for looking like that." "No." Blue said with a determined look in her eyes. "I want to hear her make her case. I want to know what she thinks we're going to do with her...because I want to do something worse." She finished with a scowl. "Fine." Yellow gave in as she summoned their thrones. They both sat down. "Let's just get on with it, shall we?" The opposing Zircon stepped forward. "My Diamond. My brilliant, opulent, radiant, glimmering..." Her praises were cut short by Yellow. "My Diamond will suffice, or we'll never get through this." The Zircon made the Diamond salute. "Of course, my Diamond. Rose Quartz commited a crime so unprecedented, that one can't help but wonder why?"
As the court proceedings...proceeded, Steven listened as best as he could, but despite his best efforts, he was only half-listening. He couldn't help it as his mind wandered to that gem. He kept replaying the event in his head...her pleas, her scream of pain, her poofing...that poor girl.

Steven was brought out of his thoughts when his Zircon brought forth a blue palanquin for evidence purposes. He listened as she went on about how a Rose Quartz soldier shouldn't have been able to get close to Pink Diamond, so logically it had to be someone else, someone close to her. He quickly became alarmed when she accused the Diamonds, but instantly tried to take it back. "Aah! Disregard that last statement! I might have gotten carried away." Those were her last words before Yellow effortlessly crushed her form. Then the opposing Zircon spoke while wearing a smirk. "Case closed. Right my Diamond." Yellow then turned and zapped that Zircon, just like she did to Selene.

"Yellow, stop it!" The blue Diamond shouted. Steven saw this distraction as his chance to escape. He ran towards Lars and popped the bubble that was around his head. "This is our chance! We gotta go." "Where?!" "There!" Steven said, pointing to the palanquin. They headed up the steps, but Steven froze when he saw the selenite inside of the display case. He had to help her! How could he leave her here? "Why are you doing this?" "We don't have to listen to this any longer! Let's shatter Rose Quartz and be done with it!" "Can't you restrain yourself?!" "But this is pointless!" "It's not!"

Steven turned and sprinted for the transparent box. "Steven! What are you doing? We have to get out of here! Those giant crazy chicks aren't going to be distracted forever!" Lars whisper-yelled. Steven finally arrived at the case and placed his hand on the diamond. The pad turned pink and opened the door. He grabbed the gem and ran for the palanquin. Once inside, he thought for a moment, then he bubbled Selene's gem, and sent it home.
