Today I go through with the surgery. To say I'm nervous is an understatement but knowing that my wife, kids, friends, and family will be here with me gives me a sense of comfort. I know that no matter what the outcome is they'll still be here for me. For a moment I sit and watch my career flash before my eyes. The good and bad times of being an NFL player. The games, the conditioning, the wins, the loses, the fans, the haters aha. It was all good times to me but I think that I'm ready to accept the fact that it may not be my life anymore. Even if the surgery is a success it can take up to nine months for me to fully recover from it all. By that time the season would have been over and I would have missed months of conditioning and gaming. No pro coach would want to pick up a busted player and honestly I don't think I'd want to go for it immediately after my recovery. So who knows this could just be the end for me and for the first time in 3 months I'm okay with that. I hear the room door open and in walks the doctor and Kamri with the kids. Okay Mr. Kuwonu the operating room will be ready for you in 5 minutes so I'll need you to get changed and the nurse will be back to bring you down there and we can get you all fixed up. You ready? The doctor says. I look at Kamri and back to the doctor. Ready as I can ever be sir. I say and he walks out. Are you actually ready? She says looking at me while sitting Dion down on the floor letting him walk around. I let out a sigh and give her a soft smile. Like I told the doctor I'm as ready as I can be. I say and hold my arms out for her. She walks to the bed and wrap her arms around my neck. I hold her by the waist and just stare at her. Aha what? She says blushing. What? I say back smiling. I call out to my 10 month old. He's growing to fast for me. He walks over to me with a big smile on his face making me smile harder. My lil man! I say leaving kisses on his face making him laugh. Less than 3 minutes later the two nurse walks in and tell me it's time to go. I get onto the bed and they start to wheel me out. I want to panic but I look to the right and see all of my family and friends sitting in the waiting room smile and giving thumbs up, reassuring me that everything was going to be fine. I hear a series of , We love you bro!! You got this baby! We'll be right here waiting for you! And more. Wow you've got a whole fan base out there. One of the nurse say to me. Aha yeah.
