I was only four when my parents started fighting nonstop. My parents, they need never cared about me. I mean, there's so many times that I've had to get my own dinner but ended up receiving 3rd degree burns.
As I grew up, I came to realise that my parents never cared about me. And I knew I had to get away.
FLASHBACK
I just came home from school and heard my mom shouting. "John, I don't know why I ever married you. You a selfish bastard, your arrogant, irresponsible and quite frankly I can't trust you. I give you one job to do and you don't do it. You just made us bankrupt." My mom - Judy shouted. My father said something but I didn't sick around to hear anything more.
I just turned around and ran out the door, I just ran and ran, to my safe place. Nobody bothered me here.
I stayed in my safe place until I thought it was safe to go home. After a few hours, when the sun was beginning to set was when I finally decided to start walking home. Only when I go home, I noticed that one of my parents' care was missing. I just shrugged it off and went inside. My dad was passed out on the floor. Many uncountable empty alcohol bottles laid scattered all around him.
My mom was no where to be seen, I didn't care. I just went up to my room and never came out.
I remember waking up the next morning. I just didn't care. I managed to get myself halfway down the stairs. I sat down on them. A few minutes went by and I was still sitting on the stairs. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. I jumped up and ran to get it, my parents wouldn't have heard anything over their shouting. As soon as I opened the door, I saw that it was the police. One of my neighbors must have called police because of my parents fighting.
"Get me out of here!" I practically yelled.
END OF FLASHBACKSo here I was, living with my Uncle Joe, who I owe everything. I was 9 years old when Uncle Joe took me in. Since I'm 16 now, that means Uncle Joe has taken care of me for seven years. I won't go back to my parents... ever!
"Your awfully quite. Are you okay Arielle?" Uncle Joe questioned. I pushed my food around on my plate, taking small bites here and there. "Not really. I can't stop thinking about that letter that John sent me." I said, referring to my so called 'father'. "I dont why he sent a letter to you after seven years." Uncle Joe said.
