-warning- slight mentions of killing and self harm
I walked into my bedroom the voice in the back of my head shouting. The headache was killing me, and the lights were to bright. I walk past the mirror only to stop in my tracks. The thing in the mirror wasn't me, it had a dark aura and a cruel smile.
"Hello dearest," it called. I walked closer to look at the other thing.... or was it a reflection. I couldn't tell, and the fear was nipping at my heels.
"D-don't call m-me that," I said with unease in my voice. Something in the back of my head screamed run, but I stayed..... I don't know why.
"Don't be afraid," it sang to me, like a siren calling for a lost sailor.
"I won't hurt you, I want to help you. Let me help you, let me end this suffering," it called to me more. The darkness crawled closer and closer, but I couldn't see it my eyes were only able to see the "reflection" in the mirror. It's offer was so tempting and I was so broken. The scars on my skin proved that fact, from the black eye I got from my parents to the razor cuts on my arms from me.
"No," I say quietly. The creature looked like me... except for the eyes. Its eyes were pitch black and its smile, oh it's smile, it unnatural to say the least.
"Oh darling," it whispered, "you can't deny me... I am you."
"N-no," I cried. A slam downstairs told me to stay quiet if I hoped not to be beaten tonight.
"See all they want to do is hurt you, let me save you," it coxed me. I looked at the floor, the panic was setting in. I heard someone behind me, a hand grabbed my shoulder and I tensed. The darkness had wrapped itself around me, and the eyes that glowed behind me shock me to the core. I was about to scream when my hand reached up and covered my mouth, but it wasn't me who did it that. I look in the mirror to see the "reflection" holding its hand over its mouth.
"No screaming," it warned as my hand fell to my side once again. The thing next to me looked like a shadow, the only human like trait was it's glowing red eyes that pierced the darkness.
"Submit," the "reflection" and creature shouted in unison. The force of their voices made me stumble but I was caught by the creature.
"P-le-ase," I scampered the plea. The "reflection" merrily laughed at my cry for mercy, and the creatures grip tightened on my shoulder.
"Just let us in and all your worries will melt away," the "reflection" promised as it reached out and touched my cheek. I didn't realize I was crying, I looked down to see the shadows licking at my feet. The room behind me was covered in a shadow, the room was also freezing for some unholy reason. The only light was coming from the lamp next to me, and even that wasn't very bright. I turned buck to the "reflection" with my mind made up, the creatures grip loosened.
"Take m-me," I whispered to them both. The tremble made my voice uneven, the memories of my past made panic slowly set in.
"I couldn't quite hear you darling," the "reflection" teased. I was still shaking a bit now, the panic and sadness raced through me.
"I submit," I tell them both. The smile in the reflection scared me as it's eyes started to glow red as well. The creatures hand, if you could even call it a hand, slowly made its way down my back as it moved directly behind me. Then cold spread throughout my body, I wanted to scream but no cry came to my lips as panic hit hard. Then dark, my vision left me as this comfort closed around me like an old friend. The last thing I remember is a laugh and then a scream from a voice who could only assume is my mother.
