(Phoenix's POV)
Once Riley found out she might have to go back to Canada, she locked herself up. She shut everyone out including me. She only said, 'if I have to leave, I don't want to get more attached then I already am.' then she turned and went into her room, locking the door and not coming out unless it was for food.
She only ate a little though. She was starting to worry me.
It was the day before we found out if she could stay or not and to say I was nervous was an understatement. I was terrified. I didn't want her to go, I love her for fuck sakes!
I was pacing my room because I couldn't get any sleep. I was to busy thinking about the possibilities and what would happen if she did have to go back. My birthday was in a week and that meant hers was in three. That should be a short enough amount of time, right?
I was about to sit down on my bed when a faint knock came from my door. I walked over to it and opened it only to see Riley with tears coming done her face. She was crying like crazy and I knew why.
I ushered her inside and we both sat on the bed. She looked me in the eye before bursting out in tears. I held her close as she cried into my chest.
"I'm so nervous Phoenix! I don't want to leave!" I heard her voice for the first time in days.
"I know Ri, I know. I'm nervous too. I don't want you to go either. I lo- I mean, I like you to much." I stuttered a bit.
"I'm scared Phoenix." She whispered.
I put my fingers under her chin and lifted her head up towards me. I looked her in the eye and then smashed my lips to hers. Our kiss wasn't slow or soft, but fast and rough and full of fear.
I picked her up and she wrapped her legs around my waist as my hand supported her under her bum, the other one running through her hair. Her fingers were running through my hair as I closed the door, not breaking the kiss, before heading towards the bed, the knowledge that my mom won't be home until tomorrow running through my head as I sat down with her straddling me.
She pulled of my shirt and reconnected our lips.
You, erm, you know what happens next.... yeah, now it's awkward.

I woke up in the morning with Riley laying next to me. She was wearing her same clothes from yesterday minus the shirt. She stopped me before it went to far.
I had my arm around her waist and she was curled into my chest. I looked at the clock and realized we had to leave in two hours to the court house.
"Riley." I cooed in her ear.
"Hey, Riley wake up." I said a bit louder causing her to stir awake.
"Good morning." She said lazily smiling.
"Morning. We have to leave in two hours." I told her.
"Oh, ok. I'll go get ready." She said, getting up.
"Ok, me too." I said also sitting up.
Riley walked out of my room an back to hers. I walked lazily to my closet and chose some black skinny jeans and a dark blue dress shirt with all black converse. I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth and then brushed my hair a bit before walking out of the bathroom and heading downstairs to get breakfast.
~Riley's POV~
I had just closed my door when a waterfall of tears streamed down my face. I couldn't help but cry. I love Phoenix and today I'd find out if I had to leave him or not.
I wiped my tears and walked towards my closet and pulled out a one shoulder strap, pink floral shirt that went tight just under the breasts and some black skinny jeans with golden heels. After awhile, I decided to just wear flats. I straightened my hair and added my mom's pink butterfly hair clip that she gave me when I turned 12.
It was the most formal clothing I owned at the moment.
I did my make up very lightly and then slipped on my favorite bracelet.
I walked downstairs to the kitchen and saw Phoenix making bacon and eggs.
"Hey babe." I whispered when I got closer to him. I wrapped my arms around his waist and gave him a hug from behind.
He turned around and smiled, hugging me back.
"You look amazing." He whispered in my ear.
"I can say the same about you." I whispered just as Phoenix's mom walked in.
"You'd better hurry and eat. We have to be there in a half an hour." She said, ignoring the fact that we are hugging in the middle of the kitchen for no reason at all.
"The bacon is almost done." Phoenix said.
Once his mom got back from her trip, Phoenix told her about him talking right away. She had started crying. She told us she didn't think he'd ever talk again.
It was so touching.
"Oh, okay. Good." Was all she said before walking out of the room with a cup of coffee in her hands.
"Are you ready?" Phoenix asked, once we finished eating.
"I guess." I said, standing up and placing my plate in the sink. Phoenix soon did the same and then we were off to the court house.
