Steve lent idly back in his chair. The monitors on his desk flashed dully, showing nothing of importance above the earth's atmosphere. Steve sighed. He was supposed to be working for a secret branch of NASA, monitoring certain space events, but for the entire short duration of his employment nothing out of the ordinary had happened, not even as much as a solar flare. He closed his eyes, bored, accustomed to the regular beeping of the monitors.

A shrill tone brought him back from his thoughts of dinner with his little brother. A flash of red appeared on the screen monitoring the outer atmosphere. Streams of pale light glowed on the inferred camera, flying in the direction of earth. Steve urgently pressed the button to the intercom.

"Call the Doctor," Steve announced. "She'll want to see this."
