Mystic Falls, 1994
"What does Matt want with Stefan?" I asked Damon as he and I were walking through the woods to meet Liv.
"I don't know. It's Matt." He replied, "food, money, a new social class." He joked causing us both to laugh, "whatever it is, it better distract Stefan from his screwup with Caroline. Did you know about that? How she felt?"
"She might've mentioned it a while back."
We finally got to the cemetery, where Liv said to meet. She was sending us into the 1994 prison world, through the ascendant, to bring back Bonnie.
"Thanks for doing this." I said to her.
"Don't worry about it. I needed an excuse to get out of that frat house. Way too much boy. Gross. You got everything?"
"Yup. Blood from a Bennett, Lucy to be exact. And an ascendant from whatever the hell your last name is." Damon answered handing her the items.
"Parker," she held the ascendant up, "so this is the famous ascendant. I'm surprised Jo even gave it up."
"Why?" I asked.
"It's the only thing keep Kai locked in his prison. If he gets out, he's coming after Jo," she said looking at Damon.
"Well, good ole Jo. Helping us out." Damon responded, "can we do this please?"
"Whatever. So I'm gonna need the moon to activate the ascendant. It will be viable for about eight hours, so once I send you over there, clock is ticking."
"And how to we get back?" I asked.
"Drink these," she handed us two vials of blood, "It's my blood. It'll link you to me so I can find you and bring you back. Give this one to Bonnie too." She handed me another vile and I put it in my pocket, "are you waiting for a toast? Drink."
"Cheers." Damon said and we drank her blood, "Mm. Bitter. I wonder why. Shall we?" He held his hand out and I took it then placed my other hand under the ascendant.
Liv poured the Bennett blood on it then started the spell. The ascendant started to move and everything around us became a bright light before it went away and Liv was gone.
My hand was still in Damons and we looked at each other. We smiled, knowing that Bonnie was coming home today.
"Come on. Just keep your eyes peeled. There's a pork rind-munching freak somewhere around here."
I nodded and we started to walk. After a few minutes, we got to the Salvatore house. We quickly opened the door and ran in.
"Bonnie?" I called. No answer, "Bonnie?!"
"Check upstairs." Damon told me and I nodded.
I headed upstairs, still calling her name, but no answer. I started to panic as I checked every room, but no signs of her. I walked downstairs and met Damon in the living room.
"I checked every room, she's not here." I told him and sat down on the couch, "you don't think that Kai--"
"Look, let's not jump into depressing conclusions yet. Okay?"
I took a deep breath and nodded. I looked down and saw a red stain on the pillow. I smelled it and it was blood.
"Damon, this is blood." I said panicking.
"And we're jumping." He walked over to the counter and grabbed a boxy phone, "If Kai has Bonnie, we need to talk."
"So, you're gonna call him?"
