An Enemy Family Reunion

      "You're family will fall, trying to save you from yourself" Slade laughs nastily.

       I jerk my eyes open as I sit straight up on the bed, until I feel someone grab me. I snap my head to the side, seeing that it's just Beast Boy, and realizing that I was just having a nightmare. I feel tears stream down my face when I sense that I'm glowing red.

  "Rae it's ok. It's ok, I'm here" Beast Boy says while pulling me onto his lap. "You ok baby?" He asks while wiping my tears and kissing my cheek. "I'm fine. I just need to meditate" I say quietly. "I'm not going to let anything else happen to you ok? I promise. You're my number one priority, you always have been" he says while embracing me. "I love you" I say while staring him in his eyes. "I love you more" he says as he kisses my lips. "I'm going to go outside and meditate for a while, I'll be back" I say while getting up off of the bed. "Do you want me to go with you?" He asks. "Go back to sleep, I know you're tired. I'll be back in a little bit" I say back to him. "Ok baby" he says while looking concerned. I walk out of the room and into the hall forgetting that everyone is still asleep so I teleport myself to the roof of the tower.
"Slade haunting you again huh?" I turn around to see Jason, sitting on the edge of the tower, with his legs dangling off. "How'd you know?" I ask. He pats the space beside him with his hand, so I walk over and sit down beside him. "I've had my fair share in dying" he says bluntly. "I know what it's like to have your murderer haunt you every second of your life" he goes on. "You were killed?" I ask in shock. "When Robin said that it had been a while, he meant everyone thought I was still dead" Jason said quietly. "What happened?" I ask. "You know Dick wasn't the only Robin right?" He asks me. I nod my head yes. "I was the 2nd Robin, and Batman was my mentor. Me and Dick are the same in that way, both of our parents weren't in the picture. While Robin's parents died, mine were just sorry. My father was in and out of prison and he never came home and my mother was a drug addict. I had to drop out so I could put food on the table for me and my mother, and that's when I turned into a criminal, I had to start stealing because no one wanted to hire a kid my age. Running from the cops and living on the streets became my life. I came home one night and found my mother dead. She overdosed" Jason says.
"I'm sorry" I say quietly. "I was about to be put into a foster home until I was caught stealing from Batman. He saw potential in me, and he took me in. He also saw darkness in me. Dick was the perfect Robin. I was the more impulsive and violent one" Jason says while looking down at the water. "Everyone has a dark side, even Robin. He was Slade's apprentice at one point" I say while following his look. "I guess you're right" he says while sighing. "Yesterday was my first real Christmas, I actually felt like I was a part of a family" Jason says as he smiles. "That's because you are a part of our family" I say while returning the smile.
"I actually care about you and your fiancée a lot more than I'd like to admit" Jason says while rolling his eyes. "We think the same of you" I say back to him. "If you don't mind me asking, since you worked alongside Batman then you must be familiar with his enemies, like the Joker right?" I ask him. "That's the green-haired, pennywise looking bastard that killed me" he says while laughing. "Wait. He killed you?" I ask in shock once again. "Batman says that was his greatest failure, letting him kill me. And even then he let him live, the Joker pleaded insanity and got sent to an asylum, that's where he met Harley Quinn" Jason said. "How did he do it?" I ask quietly. "At first he chained me up and tortured me. He used a horse whip and then he carved his name into back. After he had his fun, he beat me to death with a crowbar" Jason said while lifting his shirt, exposing his back.
I look at his back in horror as I see 'Joker was here' carved into his back. "You must hate Batman for not killing him" I say while looking down. "I was dead for an hour, but somehow my heart restarted. I still don't know how or why. But I was ready to die, after hours of being tortured I was basically begging him to go ahead and kill me, I got what I wanted" He said with a sigh. "After I recovered, I found out that all of my friends were dead, Joker had killed them too" he says while looking down. "Does he know that your alive?" I ask. "I'm not sure, but if I ever see him again I'll kill him" he says while pulling out a knife. "I understand why you want him dead, but when you do it you won't feel any better, trust me" I say while thinking about me killing Slade.
"You feel guilty about killing Slade because there isn't a evil thing about you. You're pure hearted Raven. There's not much good in me anymore, life showed me it's worst at a young age. I don't have high hopes for a decent life. Everyone I cared about was taken away, that's why I refused to get close to anyone for so long. But then you had to blow yourself up for me and Beast Boy" Jason says with a soft smile. "Besides Starfire, you were the only other person to show me friendship. And now you and Beast Boy are my best friends" Jason says as he smiles. "The whole team loves you. You'll always have a family and a home with us" I say as I put my hand on his shoulder and stand up. "I need you to promise me something" Jason says with a serious face. "What is it?" I ask. "I have a feeling that Joker knows I'm alive. He knows I'm a hard person to find, so the first thing he would do is find the people that I care about, interrogate them and then kill them. If you ever come face to face with him, don't underestimate him or Harley, they won't hesitate to kill you. Tell him whatever he wants to know about me and then maybe he will spare your life" Jason says. "There's 6 of us and 2 of them. It won't come down to that" I say while looking at him. "That's the thing with Joker, he picks and he chooses. He won't fight you all at once, he sits and he waits for the right moment when one of you are alone. That's how he killed me. If not for your own self then do it for Beast Boy" Jason says without blinking. "I promise" I say quietly. "Goodnight Raven" he says while nodding at me. "Goodnight" I say as I teleport myself back into Beast Boy's room. If Joker lives in Gotham City, then how would he know to come to Jump City to look for Jason? And that's if he knows that Jason is alive.
  I look at the clock on his dresser and it's 4:25 A.M and that's when I notice Beast Boy is still awake, sitting up in bed with bloodshot red eyes. "I thought you were going back to sleep" I say as I sit down on the bed.  "I couldn't, I was worried about you" he says while pulling me onto his lap. "You need to sleep, your eyes are red" I say while brushing his hair out of his face. I hate that I woke him up, I knows he's exhausted. "Are you going to go to sleep?" He asks. "Maybe in a little bit" I reply back. "Then no I'm not going to sleep" he says as he rubs his eyes. I move myself further up on him and our chests begin to touch. "You can't stay awake just because of me. Please go to sleep" I say while putting my arms around him. "Raven I'm not going to leave you awake by yourself" he says while laying his head down on my shoulder. While still sitting in his lap, I gently push him so that he's laying down on his back and I kiss his lips. I feel him put his hand on my waist as he leans in for another kiss. I lay my head down on his chest and I close my eyes while I listen to his heartbeat, and fall asleep.
***6 Hours Later***
     I slowly open my eyes to see that I'm still laying on top of Beast Boy. "Good morning" he says as he kisses my lips. I lay my head close to his neck and he says "Still sleepy?" "Mhmm" I say as I close my eyes. "Go back to sleep, I'm going to go get something to eat" he says as he starts to get up. I grab onto his arm and stare at him with my violet eyes. "Babe I'm hungry" he says while laughing. I ignore him and close my eyes once again while still holding onto his arm. He lays back down and puts his arm over me. "Clingy" he says while grinning. "Shut up" I say with my eyes closed.
ALERT ALERT!!! OUTBREAK IN JUMP CITY'S MALL!!! TITANS ALERT!!!!
Beast Boy and I jump up from the bed as our alarm system goes off. We race towards the living room to meet up with the other titans. "Titans it says there's a large outbreak in the mall, we need to move now!!!" Robin commands as we all race towards the elevator. I watch X and Robin hop onto their motorcycles while Cyborg gets into his car. "Let's go!!" Robin shouts. Starfire and I take to the air while Beast Boy morphs into a bird.
