《Flashback • A bit of gore •》

Rattle..
Snap..

Her heart thundered in her chest, as she pulled against the shackles bounding her to the stone, damp and moldy wall. She kept her eyes cast down, barely able to contain the nausea, the stomach acid that threatened its way out at the smell of rotten flesh, of decomp and blood and death. It disgusted her. She'd dared to look up once. And she'd.. she'd been horrified. Hanging from chains that dangled from the ceiling were different parts of the body. Some were limbs with the main corpse still attached, and some were only limbs, with the corpses beneath them.

Blood splattered the walls, staining them. Most of it was old.. but some of it was fresh. She'd dry heaved. Not having eaten anything within a forty eight hour period, she had nothing to give.

Step..
Step..
Creak..

The wooden stairs that led down to what she supposed was the basement creaked, making her heart jump in her chest. Making her tremble in fear. She swallowed nervously, hating the rancid taste in her throat. Dry heaving had caused some of her stomach acid to come up.. and it hadn't been pleasant.

She looked up, but she couldn't really see. The form of what she supposed was a man in front of her was a mere blur. He was pretty tall, well, to her at least. She'd always been a tiny person..

She couldn't see his face, even though it was bare before her. It was more like.. she couldn't remember his face. And it scared her even more. Who was this man? This strange, scary man that had her shackled?

She didn't get to ponder for too long though, because she immediately felt her body jolt upwards, her back arching and a pained groan slipping from her lips, as if she'd been shocked by something. It'd been painful, her legs had been numbed by it, and she'd momentarily blacked out. God..

She looked up at the blurry man, tearfully. She was confused. What had he done to her? Then she realized.. there was also a shackle around her neck, but it was different. It was tighter, and it felt like tiny little prongs poked into her neck. Was.. was it a shock collar? But, but it couldn't have been. Shock collars weren't metal.

There was a chuckle. A deep, sinister chuckle. It made her stomach twist in ways that it shouldn't have. She looked up at the blurry man, her brows furrowing when the flash of a camera blinded her..

She jolted awake with a gasp, her hand instinctively going to her neck. She blinked away the tears and the sleep from her eyes, looking around. A forest? Oh yeah..

She'd been in the forest for about.. four days now? She had absolutely no idea how she got there, but it kind of freaked her out. Yet at the same time.. she was glad to be away from that man. This is the second nightmare she had, the same one in fact, and since she had no recollection of anything aside from her name, she decided that those dreams weren't dreams, but in fact memories buried into her mind. Memories that she wanted to forget again.

She groaned, pressing her trembling hand to her head. It felt like her skull would split at any second. This migraine made her all the more sick to her stomach. And that added onto the pinching hunger that she felt. God, why am I in so much pain..?

Eventually, she heaved herself up. She couldn't remember the last time she ate. Oh she was so hungry..

Sighing, she glanced around, her once snow white hair - now matted with dirt, blood, and something that reeked of the decomp in her dream.. something she didn't care to find the name of, but wanted gone - fell into her face.

She frowned. It was so long now.. the dead ends brushing against her ankles. It would be hell to clean. If I ever even get to that point..

It made it a bit difficult to walk too, but she survived.

And yes, her hair was naturally white. She was just born like that, she didn't really know why.. but she knew it wasn't albinism or anything, it couldn't have been. Because her eyes were a mossy green colour. At least, they should've been. She didn't know anymore..

She thought idly to herself for a bit, as she wandered around.

What year was it? Was month was it? How about the date? Or maybe the day..?

She sighed.

She didn't know.

How old was she again? She didn't know that either..

Wait, did she even have clothes on?

Panicking slightly, she glanced down at herself. She was in short, grey, torn up and bloody shorts. And a black sports bra. But where was her Shirt? She didn't know..

She grew frustrated. So many questions, but no answers..

Then she noticed the blood on her hands, and.. a flesh-like substance under her nails. Her stomach dropped, and she studied them.

They were bruised, torn up and blistered. They were a bit discoloured as well. Aside from the blood. They were a light purple, even though she knew that under all the filth, she was a pale white.

She grimaced, her eyes trailing to her swollen wrists. They had black and blue rings around them, which further led her to believe that there had indeed been shackles on her. She inhaled sharply.

Then her eyes went further down her arms. Bruises and cuts and burns littered them. But she didn't remember doing that to herself.. could she have done that if she was chained to a wall? She frowned.

Also, why was she first noticing this? She wasn't sure. She just.. hadn't really paid attention before?

Soon, she reached a small river. The sound of a calm current reached her ears. It made her relax a bit. Maybe.. maybe she could wash up a bit? Or maybe get a drink. Her throat was dry, and she felt absolutely parched.

But those thoughts quickly went away at the sound of a twig snapping behind her, and were replaced with fight or flight mode. She chose flight..
