A distinct coffee aroma filled my nose upon entering. My eyes immediately scanning the whole place.
He’s not here yet...
I let out a heavy sigh. I’m actually quite early this time.
I noticed the person on the counter, he smiled at me in recognition. He motioned his head at the far corner of the café. There was a man wearing a business suit and trying to cover his face with the newspaper in his hand.
I guess they’re early, too. I bit my lips, the anxiety coming back.
After giving my order, I moved towards the far side at the back, beside the glass wall, and sat.
Not many people swing by this place, especially at this hour. It was only half past five, but the place looked dark already. The clouds had a darker shade than it’s supposed to be.
A storm’s coming.
When my order came, I let the hot drink soothe my uneasiness. I glanced at my watch, five minutes past six.
“Any minute now,” I told myself.
I looked back outside with thoughts wandering of how things will end up tonight. I closed my eyes with earnest hope.
“Cha,” I heard the opposite chair move. He’s here.
I plastered a smile before turning at his direction.
