Trigger Warning: there's a bit of blood involved.

I didn't realise that it was evening until I saw the time on my mate's watch when he stroked my cheek and sent sparks up my spine.
After my mate was led away from me the men strapped me in but left me alone. Bill was still limping from when my mate had thrown him.
"Better get some rest, darling." He said with a maniacal gleam in his eyes. "Tomorrow I get my revenge for your mate's little stunt." He said smiling and left.
The moment they all left the room, the lights went out and I was left in straps to a bed in pitch blackness in a room with no windows. I felt claustrophobic and had to take deep breaths to calm myself.
It reminded me of the night my dad died. I was locked in a car in the middle of the night while my dad took on a small pack of rogues by himself. I didn't have my wolf senses then to feel safe enough but at least I had Cody.
But now, I had nobody and there wasn't a trace of light in the room for my eyes to adjust.
Despite the fact that my mate postponed my torture and flung Bill across the room for me I still couldn't trust him.
He'd seen me in the hospital and had been cold as ice to me and then suddenly he becomes my saviour? I don't just trust anyone that helps me.
I wasn't even sure that it was him that helped me. His eyes were not the hazel I'd seen at the hospital. They were gold so I think it was safe to say that his wolf was my 'saviour', not him.
It's kind of ironic. Our wolf sides are meant to be the savage or uncaring parts of us but for some reason, his wolf seemed to care more. Slash, that's what the others had called him.
And then realised that today was the first time I heard my mate's name.
Valerian, it was a nice name despite its hateful owner. It radiated power and I had to unwillingly admit it suited him.
I sighed and tried to get a bit more comfortable, an extremely difficult feat. Especially with the straps holding me.
The wounds all over my skin didn't help at all. My clothes were drenched in blood and were sticking uncomfortably to me and so were the bedsheets.
I stared at the ceiling—although I couldn't even see it in the complete darkness—and thought about my 'wonderful' day.
Bill had taken every measure I thought was possible to make me spill what I knew. I was still going with the I-don't-know-what-you're-talking-about act even though I knew no one fell for it. I'd been punched, whipped, cut, choked and electrocuted but it never seemed to be enough for them.
To some people, I would seem like a fool keeping a secret for a group of people who don't give a shit about me but I understood the gravity of the promise I'd taken.
Cody's life could be at risk if I said anything. I'd take any form of punishment just to make sure he stayed safe.
Just when my eyelids finally seemed to get heavy and I could have slept, the door opened and the lights were turned on.
I hissed and shut my eyes to shield it from the sharp and unexpected light.
"What the fuck?!" I groaned and finally opened my eyes to see an amused lady at the door. From her uniform, I could tell she was a nurse, a very annoying nurse.
"I was sent here to attend to your wounds." She said.
"What's the use when they would all be opened up tomorrow?" I said. She ignored me and walked towards me and I saw she was carrying a first aid box, a bowl of water and a white cloth with her.
I closed my eyes and let her do her business, trying to catch some sleep but it was long gone especially with the stupid light on.
She made the process as painful as she could. I saw her pour the bottle of disinfectant directly on the gash on my arm when she thought I wasn't looking. A string of profanities left my mouth.
"Hell, lady! What the fuck?" I almost screamed at her and I swear I heard her chuckle. Oh, she was damn lucky those straps held me.
She didn't even acknowledge my words. There would be no apology.
Realizing I wasn't going to get one anytime soon so I turned my head away and endured it biting my tongue the whole time till it bled.
When she was done with the torture she called first aid she proceeded to wipe the blood off with warm water. I didn't see the steam until it was too late.
My scream echoed through the room and I was sure people outside would hear it, not as if they'll care.
I whipped my head to look at her. I expected to see her grinning but she was sneering at me. She had used a peg to hold the cloth dripping with hot water.
"Are you a nurse or a freaking torturer?" I yelled at her.
She didn't even acknowledge my question. "I advise that you answer Bill's questions or you'll get worse than this tomorrow night." She said and with that, she picked up the box and bowl and left. The lights went out again and I didn't even attempt to sleep.
