//That night, about 12 am.//
She fluttered her eyes open late at night. Her heart felt heavy with guilt, but she knew what she had to do. She had been curled up on Adrian's chest while he slept peacefully. His chest rose and fell slowly, his usual smile replaced by a calm expression. She stood up carefully and looked out the window. It was left open, as it usually was, and a cool breeze flowed through it.
"Adrian, wake up! We have to go!" She screeched as she jumped up and launched herself through the open window. He startled awake, his green eyes wide and surprised. "Wait, (Y/N), where are you going!?" He exclaimed as he threw himself out of bed and crawled out of the window after her. His slippered feet pounded after her.
The streets were cold and empty, as it was much too late for anybody sane to be about. She remembered something faintly, something Adrian had told her, but she didn't care. Her paws practically flew underneath her as she tried to navigate the dimly lit streets of London. Anytime he would come too close to catching her she would make a quick turn onto another street, where he would skid to a stop and change direction to follow after her.
Her chest was heaving as she fought to keep her pace steady and just fast enough to outrun him. "(Y/N), stop! What's going on with you? Where are we going?" He called after her. She turned her head just far enough to see that his long silver hair was streaming behind him as he ran and his face was contorted into an expression of pure panic. She felt terrible for making him feel so scared, but she knew it wasn't an option. She couldn't speak to him in English, so her actions as a cat would have to be her means of communication.
They weaved through the streets and alleyways, slowly making their way towards the manor. She felt lightheaded and knew that she was probably overexerting herself, but she had no choice. They soon came to the entryway of the Phantomhive manor, which looked much different than before, and she squeezed herself through a barred fence that had been placed there. He jumped over it and made a grab for her. She darted to the side, and jumped through an open window on the side of the building. Some rooms were dimly lit by candles, but not nearly enough to find a hiding place.
She ran up the stairs, unknowing of the fact that the Adrian was hovering in front of the main door. "It's late, (Y/N)! Why are we here?" He called quietly to her through the closed door. She hadn't heard him, and so she continued her exploration of the rooms. One door was slightly ajar, and she took the opportunity to enter. She collapsed onto her side, breathing heavily. 'I'm here. Now what? This obviously isn't Ciel's room, and Adrian is outside waiting for me to return. I could try to find Sebastian, or any of the servants, but I'm not sure anyone is awake. I didn't think this through, what should I do now?' She thought to herself as she continued panting tiredly.
Movement came from the other side of the room, then it struck her. This was somebody's bedroom. She looked up and was met with a pair of curious teal eyes. An otherworldly screech filled the room, and only after it was quiet again had she realised that she was the one who had made the sound. "A kitten? Do you belong to Mister Sebastian? If so, how did you get in here?" A curious and quiet male's voice murmured. She took a moment to study his features. Longer blonde hair pulled up into a high ponytail, and innocent teal eyes. A soft smile covered the young man's face. 'This must be Finny. He looks older, but still kind. I could stay with him for the night, but what if Adrian leaves?'
Her silent question was answered by a tap at the window. Finny took her small and fluffy body into his hands and walked over to the window. Adrian was waving at him from the ground. He opened the window and poked his head out. "Undertaker, what are you doing here?"
"I need to talk to one of you, face to face. Come down here!"
"Alright, alright. I'm coming down. Just a minute." He said softly, then he shut the window and turned to leave the room. The two were walking down the stairs when a sooth voice stopped them dead in their tracks. "Finnian, what are you- (Y/N)? Finnian, how did you find that cat?" Sebastian asked them as he walked over. He was still in his black and white suit, as if he were about to go out at any moment. "Oh, Mister Sebastian! I woke up to a strange sound, and there was this little kitten in my room. The Undertaker is outside and wanted to talk to a representative of the manor. I wasn't sure if anyone was awake, so I thought I would go!" He chirped. Sebastian simply took her from Finny's hands and walked towards the door. "Go back to bed, Finnian. I'll deal with it."
He nodded reluctantly and waved goodbye to his furry friend. Sebastian carried her to the door and opened it. Adrian was standing there, looking dishevelled. "Sebastian, have you seen- Oh! (Y/N), you're here! She woke me up and ran off so suddenly, I was worried about her. Thank you for finding her. I'll just take her back home, then-"
A cloud of smoke billowed around the kitten and the demon, and both men there nearly screamed. A human girl replaced where the kitten used to be. A girl with (H/C) hair, and (E/C) eyes. A familiar human girl. She blinked at them, then looked down at herself. She was in nothing than a pair of undergarments. Her cheeks flushed a deep red, and she buried her face in her hands.
"(Y/N)!?"
