×Chapter 11 : I'm glad I have a friend before, and now

ΠAna's POVΠ

"Ana."

"Mmm." I feel someone yank off my covers. I search for it with my eyes still closed.

"Leoner, if you don't wake up I'm gonna drag you out." I raise the bird up and go back to sleep. I know Rivaille's gonna be mad, but I don't as hell wanna wake up now.

I feel him grab my foot and threw me off of the bed. I groan and I decided to sleep on the floor.

"Ana, wake up you've already slept half of the day." I hear bored face's tone getting harsher.

I whine, "Noo.." I lay on my stomach to get a good spot.

"I'm so gonna regret this." He mumbles.

I can feel his breath beside my ear, "Ana, I'm naked."

"Really?!" I jolt up opening my eyes to be greeted by Rivaille with a scowl on his face.

He raises one eyebrow at me and I mimicked him, "What?"

He rolls his eyes, "Just get ready."

"Just get ready." I murmur.

"Don't push it." Before he leaves he holds his stare and looks away.

Can I get a day without bored face? Probably not.

I head to the bathroom to freshen up. Once I was done, I wear the clothes Hanji gave me, they still haven't gave me the uniform. I put my hair to ponytail and did some stretching.

Heading out, I reach the stairs and slide down the handrail. I hear voices coming from the dining hall, I make my way there to see Rivaille and four people.

Rivaille notices my presence and turns to me, "Squad, this is Ana Leoner. Erwin saw her skills were good and recruited her a week a ago. She'll be fighting with us." He turns and leaves.

A beautiful ginger head girl stands up and approaches me, her sweet smile made me envious, "Hi, I'm Petra Ral. It's nice to meet you." Well, at least she's nice.

Next one has short crop of brown hair that's kept to a point on the back of his head's upper area, "Gunther Schultz, glad to have you in our team."

Then a blond hair which had a middle parting and a pony tail folded at the back stands up, "Eld Jinn, it'll be an honor fighting with your side."

They all seem nice.

Last one stands up with blonde hair. He has a handkerchief on, his neck? Kinda like Rivaille if you ask me. No wonder it looks familiar, in a odd way. "Olou Bozado, have 39 solo kills. Don't brag yourself, your just lucky to join us."

Except for this one.

"Says the one who imitates Rivaille." I mutter.

"What did you say brat?"

"Oh, nothing Rivaille!" I smile.

Glad Rivaille's left, he'd probably beat the shit out of this guy, though it's tempting.

"Tch." Just when he was about to say something he bites his tongue.

I laughed so hard I feel tears in my eyes, the others laugh too. But then there laugh faded, surprise I was  able to recover from my own, I look up to see there gaze focus behind me.

I look behind me to see Rivaille standing there. Shit he must've heard me.

"Ana, follow me. Now."

Great. Just fucking great.

"Nice meeting you all though." I smiled and they smiled back.

I catch up with Rivaille who's leading the way. We stop in front of my room and enter. He closes the door behind him, "Ana, it's the time you must know respect."

"What's it this time have I done?" I sit down on my bed.

"You joining the Survey Corpse doesn't only require you to just follow orders from your comrades, but to respect them as well."

"And you're telling me this why?"

"You lack respect. You weren't like this before."

"Don't judge me by my past."

"I'm not judging you by your past, I'm stating out the fact by your present."

I stay silent, "Like you respect anyone." I mutter. I remove my gaze away from him and grip the sheets.

Keep your cool Ana. Just be calm.

"Ana, I respect everyone, except for the those who don't deserve it."

I feel my eyes get glassy. He had to bring this up.

"You know very well why I don't respect others anymore! Who are you to tell me about this?!"

Silent fills the room. A tear escapes my eye.

"A person who respects you." I hear his boots coming near me. I bite my lip to stop the tears but its no use.

In the corner of my eye, he kneels in front of me, "Ana, look at me."

I stay silent.

"Don't let the past pull you back. What happened before, was painful for you. But don't let it be the reason that'll change you and affect the people around you."

For some reason, Rivaille's advice set me at ease.

"Why are you saying these things?" I whisper, still not meeting his gaze.

"Because you're still grasping the past and carry it wherever you go. And I want you to let it go. I'm not expecting you to let it go that easily, but I want to help even if it takes step by step."

He stands up and leaves.

I smile to myself. I'm glad I have a friend before, and now.
