It was the last day of school

Anthony's Pov
I looked at the scrunchie on my wrist
I was filled with sad nostalgia
But reminded myself that it had been exactly nine months since we broke up
I took it off of my wrist and began to spin it around on the table
I should have moved on by now
But I didn't
He sure did though
It wasn't like I was thinking about him or the breakup all the time or anything
But I couldn't help but feel jealous every now and then
When we broke up I didn't expect us to stop being friends
I thought we had one of those unbreakable bonds the ones I had always dreamed of
"What's on your mind Ant?" Payton asked
His face filled with curiosity
"Nothing important I just kinda zoned out"
He nodded his head letting me know he understood

Flashback:
"Here" he said placing the scrunchie in my hands
"What's this for" I asked
"Just something for you to wear, a reminder that when you think of me I'll be thinking of you" he smiled
"Because I never stop thinking of you Ant"
A large smile grew on my face before I squeezed his hand unintentionally
"I'll be back before you know it" he said reassuringly
"Two months is a long time Josh I'll miss you" I pouted
"I know but once I'm back nothing will have changed and things will be back to normal okay?"
I began to frown
"Let me kiss you one last time" I said a tear falling from my eye
He pulled me closer and looked into my eyes
"One last time" he repeated

Me and Payton walked out of the classroom

Josh's Pov
Anthony, oh Anthony
I'd made a bigger mistake then I realized at the time
Anthony and Payton walked out of the classroom
I began to walk towards the door when I saw it
The scrunchie I had given him
It was resting on the table
I guess he moved on
I left the classroom and walked towards the bathroom
I pushed open the door and heard quiet sobs coming from the other side of the wall
"Payton I can't find it" he cried
"Hey hey it's ok what did you lose" Payton asked
"My-my scrunchie, the one I wear every day"
"You wear it every day it must mean a lot to you, we'll find it"
I ran out of the bathroom and back towards the art classroom we were previously in
I looked at the table but it was now gone
I walked up to my teacher and mumbled a ton of words that didn't make sense
"Woah there Josh slow down are you alright it's your last day shouldn't you be relaxed?"
"Yeah I'm fine I just-have you seen an emerald green scrunchie ?"
"Oh no sorry I would check the lost and found"
I sighed
"Thanks anyway" I said walking away
I checked the lost and found and searched the school for hours

Anthony's Pov

Flashback:
I waited along with all the eager parents waiting to see their kids again
I held balloons in my hands along with a box
The bus pulled up as my heartbeat began to accelerate
Many teens walked off of the bus before I caught a glimpse of Josh in the window
I began to smile
Before it turned upside down
He walked off of the bus
...With a girl
I was slightly confused until I saw his hand around her waist and I finally understood
A tear fell from my eyes before I turned around I opened the box before looking around my shoulder to see the new happy couple and walked away

Later that night

I laid across my bed waiting for something
A text
A phone call
A knock on the door
Something, anything
Finally my phone had rang and I answered
"Josh!!"
"Uh-hey"
I noticed how my excitement wasn't reciprocated
"Ant I think we should...I think we should break up"
My heart had sunk deep down into my chest
But seeing him with her I should've known
"I saw this coming" I mumbled we'll still be friends...right?" I asked
"Of course we will"
That fucking liar
Why was he so good at it
That next fall he walked the halls with that very girl
She didn't go here before
They were always by each other's side
That part didn't seem to bother me
But he began to ignore me
And that part did

Josh's Pov
My head was spinning but I only had one shot at this
I'd never be at this school again and I'd never see Anthony in it either
I was beginning to become hopeless
I pushed my way through the hallway when I saw it
The scrunchie
It was around Nessa's wrist
I ran down the hall trying to avoid running into someone when I finally got to her
"Hey Ness, where'd you get that scrunchie?" I asked practically out of breath
"I found it earlier"
"Ok Ness I will buy you a new scrunchie but can I please please have that one" I begged
"I mean I guess why?"
"I'll explain later but I have to go it's really important"
She nodded and slipped it off of her wrist
She was hesitant but dropped it in my hand
I began to look for Anthony asking around for him
I practically searched the entire school
I only had a few minutes left of school
This was supposed to be a moment of joy
I was supposed to be happy
But I wasn't
I walked towards one of the backdoors and walked outside a single tear rolling down my cheek
I turned to my left and saw someone sitting on one of the benches we had in the back of the school
He turned towards me
"ANTHONY" I shouted
I ran towards him as he stood up
I squeezed him tightly as he patted my back in confusion before I finally backed away
I held out the scrunchie and waited for him to take it
"You found it" he said smiling
"Wait Josh you should be inside your a senior it's your last day and the bells going to ring soon" he said concern in his voice
"Some things are more important"
He put the scrunchie back on his wrist and looked down on it still smiling
"Well thanks Josh your friends and girlfriend are probably looking for you-you need to get back inside"
"Anthony I'm in love with you...I am madly in love with you"
"What about your girlfriend?" He asked
"Were just friends we've always been just friends"
"But Anthony I love you and I never stopped loving you"
"Before I go let me kiss you"
"One last time?" I asked
He nodded
I pulled him in by his waist we looked back and forth into each other's eyes the bell rang as he delicately pressed his lips against mine it felt like I'd been missing a part of myself and I had just found it I ran my hands through his hair as the kiss became more passionate it felt as though the world around us had disappeared

He broke the kiss to look at me again

"One last time" he smiled

Damn that chapter was long
I wrote this like a few weeks ago
I'm sorry I haven't published a chapter in a while
But other than that I hope this chapter wasn't complete shit
I'm currently in the middle of writing a Tayler x Payton chapter and one that will be a "surprise"
Also there are two smut chapters on the way so watch out for those
