"I know what I see, it's what you don't see that scares me..." Auriza muttered those words every day, to either a therapist or her parents. People couldn't seem to see or hear what she knew was there...watching them, always watching...

Whispers seemed to follow her in the halls at school, they always had but things had gotten worse after she had her breakdown in the middle of the day, having seemingly every single person in school seen. She wasn't crazy, people just couldn't see what she could. They couldn't see the monsters that followed everyone, the ones whispering thoughts and ideas into people's minds, but she could; she always could. Everyone had their little monster, each saying or doing something different, no matter how old or how young someone was; even newborn infants had one, but there was only one person who didn't have a monster; she didn't have one, maybe that was why she could see them. Her family never wanted to listen to her when she warned them when her brother would try and commit suicide again, and they wouldn't listen to her when she said that her sister would go missing after her sister started to date a new guy; her sister's body was found two days later in the guy's closet, but they still never listened. School was hell for her as no matter what she did or how quiet she stayed, people always called her things like "freak" or "insane! You should be in a mental hospital"; there was only one person who seemed to respect her, Alex. Alex wasn't like the other kids in Auriza's classes, she listened and agreed with Auriza about the monsters really being there; Alex always believed the things Auriza told her about what happened in the night. Alex was always there by Auriza's side, no matter what, she never left Auriza's side, not even when Auriza slept.

One day during homeroom, Alex approached Auriza and sat next to her, as usual. Auriza really thought nothing of the day until Alex said something that caught her attention. "Hey, Aura(Alex's nickname for Auriza), I found out about this old house in the woods behind the school! What'd you say about us sneaking out and skipping to go check it out?"

Auriza was stunned a bit at first before her common sense took over and she shook her head. "Alex, are you crazy?!" She sighed and lowered her voice and tone so the other students and teacher wouldn't hear her, "I don't like it here, not at all but what if we get caught? The teachers will skin us alive and let the rest of the school watch as they do so! I'm not trying to join the millions dead yet..."

Alex simply smirked and rolled her eyes, wrapping an arm around Auriza and whispering in her ear, "Come on, they won't notice we're gone, we have gym after lunch so we can just sneak back in during gym. I promise it'll be fun!". Alex whispered to Auriza with a smile.

Auriza glanced at Alex, and broke, sighing before looking down at her hands, which she had resting on the desk in front of her. "Alright....just a quick look, and then we'll come back." She muttered to herself mainly, while glancing at Alex every so often. One little quick visit during the school day, they won't find anything they shouldn't...right?
