Jermaine POV
I walk into the board room where there is pizza, doughnuts, cake with "Welcome Princess" in pink, sodas, bottles of water, baked s'mores, hot wings and a few mini tacos. Everyone was here except Dalton and Princess. She is honestly a fireball and I like her, and no not to date her. She is pretty but I don't see her like that plus I see how Dalton looks at her. Marcus is in the corner talking to people I never seen before. I walk over and they look at me.
"This is my brother Jermaine. Jermaine, this is Lya, and Xzavier, Princess best friends. And this is Jabrea and Ava and Princess has her son Jaylen" Marcus spoke.
But my mind was on Lya. The way she smiles and talks and the way her body swayed so effortlessly.
"So Xzavier, how long you been knowing Princess?" I ask.
I doubt they just friends and even if they are now, they weren't at some point, look at Princess.
"I been best friends with her since Pre-K. She beat me up for pulling one of her friends hair" he laughed.
"So you never liked her or wanted to be with her?" I ask.
"Nah, that's my little sister bro. But I do want to know who that is" he says pointing at Tayla.
As I was about to call Tayla over, Princess and Dalton walk in. Jaylen is in her arms but once he sees Lya he is trying to get down and then running to her. She picks him up and kisses him and talks to him. Dalton nods to me and I tap Marcus so we can sit in our seats and get this meet and greet started.
"So the way we do this is, I want Princess to meet all of you but I want her to tell us about herself and after she does that, we can eat and mingle so she can get to know everyone" Marcus spoke.
Everyone nods as Princess clears her throat. "Uhh I'm Princess and I'm 20 and I'm in college right now to be a fashion designer. I have a one year old son and my favorite color is orange" she says.
"Okay, let's eat and mingle" I say.
Everyone walks around and talk. I want to talk to Princess to one get to know her but also get to know about Lya. I find her talking to Miles so I walk over. He is smiling at her and she is laughing. I don't know if he was flirting but I was surely interrupting.
"Hey Princess. And Miles" I say.
"Hi Mr. Jermaine" Princess spoke politely.
"What's good Jermaine?" Miles says.
"Can I take Princess away for a minute. I haven't even introduced myself?" I say.
He nods and Princess follows me as he walks off to talk to someone else.
"I'm Jermaine and you can call me that without the Mr. We got off on a bad start. I was having a frustrating day and you came in super confident and it irritated me so I apologize. I genuinely like you and want you to succeed her" I say.
"Thank you" she says.
"And how is Dalton adjusting to you?" I ask.
"I think good. We talked and he went over my duties and salary and everything." she says.
"Mhm. So Lya.. is she single?" I ask.
"Yes, she is very much single. You trying to get on with my bestie?" she asks laughing.
"I am but I haven't talked to her yet. I see Miles trying to talk to your friend Jabrea." I say.
"They'll be cute" she says.
