After everyone but me and Valour Junior left, the professor shut the door and looked at me. "Miss. Monroe, my nephew tells me you're a Half-Gifted. Is that correct?"
Well shit. I'm screwed.
My mask of indifference slipped for a fraction of a second before I schooled my features once more. "Not that it's any of your business Professor, but yes I'm an orphaned Half-Blood." I sneered.
"Feisty aren't we, Miss Monroe?" He asked clearly amused by my answer. I narrowed my eyes, refusing to rise to his bait. "Get to the point Professor Valour, my friends are waiting for me outside the door," I said impatiently.
"We're aware of your friends, considering they're trying their very best to listen in on our conversation. Tell me, do they know?" He said, still amused. "Yes, they know. I trust them with my life." I said getting agitated.
"Very well, Hermes let them in." He said. "Of course Uncle," Jason replied, walking to the door and allowing Draco, Fred, George and Harry in before closing the door and putting wards up to keep away prying ears. I looked at Valour Senior expectantly.
"Impatient are we now? I'll get straight to the points: First, how long were you aware of the Gifted community and why didn't you seek one out?"
I sighed. "Since I was 9 and I had no reason to seek out help. I'm quite happy with how oblivious the world is regarding my blood status. Anything else Professor?" I asked sweetly.
This time it was Jason who spoke. "Would you stop it with your snark and venom laced words?! We're not going to bite! We're here to offer our help should you actually need it!" Jason growled.
"She doesn't need your help, she was quite happy with being invisible until you told the Professor!" Draco retorted back. "Excuse me?! If I remember correctly it was your group that revealed her blood status!" Jason argued back.
"Sod off Valour!" Draco bit back.
"ENOUGH! Both of you! It doesn't matter how this got out, all that matters is that we clear things out." Valour Senior roared. I scoffed. "Is there a problem Miss Monroe?" He asked impatiently.
"Not at all Professor. Valour to answer your question, no I live for the snark. As for 'clearing things out' I will be very grateful if you both would keep my newly developed blood status a secret, as I am in not in immediate danger at the moment. If problems should arise and my friends and I can't handle it, then I will consider telling you about it. Now if you'll excuse us, we would like to enjoy our day off now." I said already walking towards the door.
"Not so fast. Unfortunately, I cannot keep your blood status a secret, I will need to notify the Headmaster and the Minister of Magic immediately. Or have you forgotten about the conditions of the Accords? Furthermore, you will be required to attend my self-defence class, which is compulsory to ALL Gifteds, starting tomorrow. Your friends are more than welcome to join of course should they feel the need to 'have your back'. Do I make myself clear?" Professor Valour barked.
I clenched my teeth hard. "Stupid Accords..." I muttered. "Crystal, I only have one request regarding your 'report', tell the Minister first. Also don't expect me to start socialising with the other Gifteds, it's not going to happen. Also also, I can't join your Self Defense classes as I'm in 3rd year, not 4th year. I will join next year, don't worry Professor. Is there anything else I need to tell you that is necessary for the Ministry?" I glared at him, begging him to give me a reason to punch him.
"Yes, your parents, which one is the Gifted? Also, I'm going to need both of your parents' names." He replied.
I groaned. "Of course you'd ask that. My mother was the witch, she never married and I don't know anything regarding my father, only that he was an average Gifted. My mother died when I was 8 years old." I lied.
"One last question, where were you raised after your mother's death and where do you stay during the summer?" He asked. Crap, thank Merlin Marietta and I came up with a cover story if someone asked about my supposed upbringing.
"When I was 8, I was put in an Orphanage, but I only stayed there for a few months since they didn't treat me well, don't ask me which one, I can hardly remember its name. For the next 6 months, I was surviving on the streets in South Africa, then someone found me and she raised me as her little sister. We bought an apartment in London not long after my Hogwarts letter came and I spend my summers there. The person who took me in is my adopted sister and Legal Guardian. It's because of her that I found out that I'm a Half-Gifted and she told me a bit about the Gifted community, our history and the Gifted Accords. Are we done here?"
"Your Guardian, what's her name?" Jason asked.
"Not telling," I snapped.
Valour Senior nodded and waved his hand towards the door, taking off the privacy wards and opening the door. "Very well, enjoy the rest of your day Miss Monroe and company, Hermes you will accompany me to the Ministry of Magic."
With that said the five of us - me, Draco, Harry, Fred and George - left and went to spend the rest of the day at the Black Lake, until dinner came around. We each went our separate ways to our respected House tables.
On our way to the Slytherin Dorms, a certain annoying Gifted boy stopped us (Draco and I).
"Wait!" He called out, seemingly out of breath.I sighed. Can't he get a hint? "What is it Valour, haven't you bothered me enough?!" I asked tiredly.
"Chill out Angela, this has nothing to do with our earlier conversation. I just want to know if Fred has a gender preference and if he is single." He said softly.
I looked around for a empty classroom or corridor before pulling him into the first classroom I found, Draco following close by.
"Draco, silencing wards please." I said as the door closed behind us. Draco soon set out to put on Silencing charms. Jason cast some of his own privacy spells for good measure after realising how sensitive the information might be.
"I'm only doing this because I saw how Fred kept glancing at you today during the 'lesson' and afterwards. Wipe that smug look off of your face Valour. Fred is very gay and single. You didn't hear it from me." I said monotonously.
Jason practically grinned like a manic with that information.
"Rose... I'm getting scared for Fred... should we be worried?" Draco asks, eyes going huge.
I looked at Jason for a second, analysing him. "Nah, he's practically harmless." I said with a knowing smirk. "Good luck handling George, Valour. He's extremely over protective." I added.
He snorted. "No one can resist my family's signature charm."
At that I narrowed my eyes suspiciously....where did I hear that before? That sounds vaguely familiar...
[A/N: Now why DOES that sound familiar, hmm? Could it be that is Valentine charm is showing up again??? *Grins evilly* Still not going to let you figure it out Rosiekins. *Cackles like an insane bitch* Still poor Fred. 😈]
Update, June 24: So I might have added a cover-up story for Rose, regarding her upbringing.]
