Arabella's POV:
I stood, partially stunned as I assumed the new boss would be an old creep who would nod and try to touch me up.
Mr Lopez seemed pleased with my slightly surprised expression.

"You seem surprised Miss Arabella" he humorously spoke his fingers raking through his soft brown hair his eyes once again never leaving mine.

"I can say I am slightly surprised as I was expecting someone older and maybe saggier" I wittily replied a smirk once again pulling at the edges of my red lips.

A chuckle left Mr Lopez' lips as he downed his scotch. He slid his empty glass across the bar and started to move backwards away from the group, he said a goodbye to my father. However my eyes never left his as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a cigarette and tapped it against his lips all the while staring at me while strolling backwards.

He turned round with a slight grin tugging at the corners of his lips. I realised I had been holding my breath and I let on a gulp of air, thankful my family were in too much of a discussion to notice my breathlessness. I spun my chair round to face the bar and this time I ordered a vodka shot not caring of my mother saw. Nicole, however, did notice and she laughed clearly having had watched my little exchange with Mr Lopez. I blushed and swatted her hand away from my side where she was tickling me.

Mateo's POV, starting from when he enters the event:

I pulled up to the event and looked at the magnificent building that the event seems to be taking place in. I am an hour late or so, I expect mostly everyone to already be here. As I gave my car keys to the valet I dusted off my pants off and strode confidently into the building, no one really paid me any mind as i arrived apart from a few gawking women who I smirked at, of course. I retreated towards the back of the hall waiting to see Mr Walton to discuss business matters which will be coming up.

A waiter was loitering around the area I was stood in so I grabbed a glass of champagne and downed it. I carelessly put it on a table close by and glanced back around the room just as someone walked through the door, even later than I was. My eyes found the most ravishing women I have ever set my eyes upon. Her eyes raked through the crowd until the stopped on mine, we held eye contact for a long second before she seemed to have to rip her eyes away from me and carry on her scan of the crowd. She turned her attention back to the man stood next to her who had her arm wrapped around his and I couldn't help but feel slightly envious.

I had finally found Mr Walton who expressed any concerns he had to me all the while I stood and quietly listened only agreeing when needed.

"Now Mateo I would like to introduce you to my family as you will be seeing a lot of them over the upcoming months" Mr Walton exclaimed, his arm found one of a woman close by who had stunning features. "This is my wife, Amelia Walton." He stated proudly, adoration in his eyes.

"Pleasure to meet you Mrs Walton, Mateo Lopez" I responded to the bright smile she showed me.

We shook hands and continued pleasantries.

"It's wonderful to meet you Mateo I have heard great things from my husband here" she exclaimed to me with a cheery voice.

Mr and Mrs Walton were two very different people I noticed while aimlessly chatting with them. Mr Walton was cold and could be very threatening, whereas Mrs Walton was probably the most cheery person I've ever seen at an event like this one where all the talk was business. I suppose the complimented each other very well.

"Mother, Father I have been looking for you all over" we were interrupted by the man who walked in earlier with the girl who had been on my mind since she arrived.

The man was with another man whose features were strikingly similar. I figured these were two of the four children of Gabriel and Amelia Walton. Obviously two of the three boys.

"Ah Mateo I would like to introduce Marcus my eldest son and my second eldest son Matthew, Devon, the youngest, couldn't be here tonight as he is elsewhere tonight and couldn't make it." Mr Walton addresses them both to me as I shake each of their hands.

"Good evening gentlemen nice to meet you" I replied to them with a small smile.

"You too" the replied together.

"Now you have met these two should we go and see Arabella, I think I have seen her at the bar" Mr Walton state's gruffly but a hint of happiness when he mentioned her name which lead me to suspect their daughter was also here.

"Sure" I replied cooly.

Mr Walton and Mrs Walton lead me and the two sons over to the bar where two young ladies sat, the one in the stunning gold dress seems to be the one who has captured my attention. She is sat next to a tanned skinned girl with a slightly too short dress but hey who am i to judge.

"Arabella I would like you to meet my new business partner Mr Lopez" Mr Walton stated to her.

Arabella seemed to sigh as those words were spoken and slowly spun round while her friend returned her attention elsewhere. She seemed shocked as she saw me just as I was, she is stunning.

Her messy waves cascaded down her back which seemed similar to her mothers own hair. Her dress had a dip in the middle letting me get a glance at a slither of cleavage making my trousers tighten ever so slightly.
Not now Mateo.
Her dress had a slit down the side which stopped just below her hip and let me see a glance at her long tanned legs, my eyes flickered so fast she would hardly notice me checking her out.

I noticed her eyes trailing down my body and it made my skin shiver slightly

Arabella and I exchanged words and I felt the strain in me to ache for a cigarette. I said goodbye to Mr Walton I kept my eyes on Arabella as she still hadn't removed her eyes from me as I pulled a cig from my pocket and tapped my lips with it as I watched her eyes seem to be mesmerised by myself. A sense of joy found me one I realised she was as fascinated with me as I was with her. I turned round and left into the night with a grin on my lips, and a true grin not a fake one.

It made me realise I hadn't smiled like this in a while.
