Once Nico was up, they were led into the kitchen and got plates ladened with food. Percy got piles of pancakes and pursed his lips at them.
"What's wrong dear?" Molly asked him. Percy startled at looked at her.
"Nothing, nothing, just . . . blue." He said. Molly looked at him.
"Excuse me?" She asked.
"I like blue food." He said. Molly still looked confused but nodded nonetheless.
"Just eat it. It's good." Thalia said, waving around a fork with a piece of pancake speared on it. Nico nodded in agreement.
"It really is." He said, making a show of taking a bite. Harry and Hermione nodded in agreement, Ron too busy shoveling food into his mouth to say anything.
"So what's the deal with you? You're too old to be first years." Percy, Thalia, and Nico exchanged looks.
"We're exchange students from America," Nico said. Hermione scrunched her eyebrows together.
"What school did you go to?" She asked.
Hecate's SChool for Witches and Wizards. The necklace answered.
"We went to Hecate's School for Witches and Wizards. Our Headmaster thought it would be a good idea for us to come here." Nico explained. Harry nodded but Hermione looked like she was deep in thought.
"I've never heard of that school before." She said, frustrated.
"We liked to keep, ah, off the radar," Thalia said.
"What's it like there?" She asked.
"It's less like a school, more like a camp-type thing. We train in fighting with weapons and stuff. It's really fun, we're all kinda like family there." Percy said. He wasn't very poetic, nor good with words, but if there was anything he could talk about with heart, it was camp. Or Annabeth. Usually Annabeth. Hermione nodded, she looked like she wanted to write it down but didn't want to miss anything while getting paper.
"Did you have houses?" She asked. Percy scrunched his eyebrows.
"What do you mean?" He asked. Now it was her turn to look confused.
"Like, we have Slytherin, for the cunning and ambitious, Hufflepuff for the loyal and kind, Ravenclaw for the smart and clever, and Gryffindor for the brave, that's the house we're in." She explained. Percy, Thalia, and Nico nodded.
"We had cabins based on," Percy started and paused in thought, "based on what kind of magic we were good at. I'm good at water magic, Thalia's good at storm and air magic, and Nico's good at, I think he called it Umbrakenesis, or something. Ya know, shadow stuff."
"Dark magic?" Ron asked, "Isn't that evil?" Nico narrowed his eyes.
"Dark magic may have a reputation for being evil but it really depends on who's using it. If the person using dark magic is evil, that's them, not the magic. I'm, despite what some people might say, despite who my family is, I am not evil." Nico said.
"What do you mean by 'despite who your family is'?" Harry asked. Nico's eyes darkened.
"Our fathers have a reputation, we're all cousins," Percy said, slightly uncomfortably.
"What are their names? Maybe I've heard of them." Hermione said excitedly. Percy's eyes flashed with panic but Nico saved them, "If we're all done eating, I think we need to head to the train, yes?" He said. Everybody noticed the sidestep and Harry slightly narrowed his eyes, but nobody said anything. The demigods were thankful for that.
