The floor was cold, but I wasn't there was a blanket covering me.

"Hgggn hello?" I was on a ship but it wasn't Zinyaks I was on the floor next to a couch, guess I fell off. I walked up the stairs and heard Kinzie's voice

"Her simulation was different he built it around her rather than putting her in a simulation chair. That's why it was so easy to get her. Her simulation was just us saying horrible things to her like she's useless or wishing she was never born. She knows we don't think that right?"

"Ugh merde she's annoying and useless to me I don't know or care about your guy's feelings towards her. Maybe the simulation was right. What's her worst nightmare? The truth?" I could hear my sister being an asshole like always.

Out of nowhere, a small beeping went off, like a phone alarm.

"Time to go see if she's awake, I don't understand it's been an entire week, she should be awake by now."

I WAS OUT FOR A WEEK?!

I ran down the stairs and back to the couch and pretended to be asleep.

"She's still not up but her fevers down so that's a good sign."

I shifted and pretended to wake up.

"Mmmmnnn what happened?"

"Holy shit Nova you're okay we were worried about you. We got you off of Zinyaks ship and you were unconscious  for like a week."

"Oh great she's awake blah blah blah can we get back to getting the useful gamer on the ship and stop wasting our time with a fucking kid?"

"Haha fuck you too, Kinzie can i have some water? My throat is killing me."

She nods and steps away to get something to drink

"Nova, we need to update you on everything that's happened, it might be a lot to take in all at once so tell me to stop if you have questions, okay?" Keith said

I nodded and he started explaining what happened once Kinzie got out of the zin mothership and got Keith and my sister out.

"So long story short we need Miller. Kinzie might be a great hacker but we need his expertise since this whole shebang is technically virtual reality."

How many people were kidnapped?

Were Oleg and Josh okay?

Was Matt okay?

If the simulations Zinyak put us in then what was his?

Probably having to use a console that wasn't the latest.

What was my sister's?

"Okay, so when and how do we do that? No offense but I kinda want my best friend back."

Keith just smirked and looked at Kinzie

"Currently? We wait for C.I.D. to tell us what to do"

"Okay and who the hell is that"

Suddenly something cold and definitely metal bumped into me

"I am C.I.D. please to meet you"

Before I could react I kicked the basketball from that one SpongeBob episode across the room"

"GAHH WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THING"

C.I.D spun around and turned to look at me

"I am C.I.D, I aim to be of any assistance I can."

"Oh. Sorry for kicking you, I'm a little jumpy after my naps"

Kinzie lightly elbowed me

"Uh kid, you've been asleep for a week."

Oh yeah. Forgot about that

C.I.D cleared his non-existent throat

"Boss, I'd like to report that the Cypher to rescue Matt Miller is complete."

My sister sighed "Ugh Finally let us go then"

"Sis I want to go too, Matt's my best friend and I want to be there when we get him back."

she just scoffed and rolled her eyes "Does the little baby want to go on a rescue mission? Sorry not sorry, but that's not happening"

"You don't even like Matt! He's my friend and he deserves to have someone he feels safe with when he wakes up instead of a prissy overprivileged french mega-bitch like you!" 

She grabbed my collar, shoved me against the wall, and practically shoved her face to mine

"I'm gonna have one rule for you and only you. Stay the fuck outta my way, don't touch anything on this goddamn ship or so help me god I will grant myself the one wish I've made on the past 22 birthdays I've had and shove you into space and watch your body pop like a fucking balloon."

"Like it or not I'm going, you're not my mother and I get to have a say in this. Kinzie hook me up to the simulation Now." Kinzie just nodded and started typing on her computer 

Sis looked absolutely fuming. like- BEYOND PISSED 

"You're going to regret this you fucking maggot."

"If it means I get Matt back, it's worth it."
