It's the Red Lantern Festival and Koshka once again is celebrating by wearing her prettiest luckiest red peacock dress! Fireworks are blasting in the fading sky and red lanterns are spread all across the town to celebrate the new year. Koshka peaks from the corner of her eye glittering dragons dancing uniformingly from side to side parading in the center of the square. A crowd is cheering and dancing so she decides to go join them. In the crowd she sees an old friend.

"Ozo!" Koshka yells but he's too busy shouting and clapping his hands along with the rest of the people. She manages to squeeze through the lot of people that seem to be increasing and taps his shoulder on his right while she stands on his left.

"Huh?" Ozo looks to the other side then at koshka. His face brightens. "Koshka! It's so good to see you again! We have so much catching up to do!"

From the front, a massive firework burst to a blazing orange and trickles down on the crowd like a mist of rain. The Crowd "ooo's"

"Ha! No kidding. I also came to have a rematch and beat you, I've totally  gotten better." Koshka smirks.

"Yea right, that'll happen when munions fly! Plus I now happen to know a few tricks so your not so magical piZaZaL anymore!"

"Wanna Bet?" asked Koshka raising an eyebrow.

"I'll go steal the kumquats!" hissed Ozo and ran off with one arm holding his hat while the other carried his ring. Just as koshka was about to chase after him a wave of fireworks exploded. She turned and saw a giant flaming red X that appeared in the sky which had cut through the head of one of the dragons. A figure came from it, jumping as high as the sky almost toughing the fireworks and somersaulting to one of the shackled rooftops, disappearing into the night. Astonished, Koshka leaves the excited crowd and instead chases after the mysterious figure by following the sparkling particles left behind on the ground. She doesn't think of Ozo being left behind nor any trouble she might find ahead. She hits a dead end, puzzled, and starts to head back only to spot a feint glow in the corner of one of the roofs. Koshka quietly climbs up to creep a sneak peak of the figure but no one's there.

"Peekaboo" a warm breath tickles the back of her neck and she turns around, startled. Before her a very tall, red haired, muscular guy with matching fox ears and a glowing tail was dressed in a traditional Chinese outfit. He says, " What are you doing following me?"

Wide eyed, she says "I saw you cutting through that BIG dragon head wayyy up with those fireworks! That looked so cool  and I wanted to ask how you did that. OH, you also did that twirly dance thingy in the air, I could do that too!" She took a step back a jumped in th air twirling, landing with one leg and the other tracing the ground.

"Well it's not like that it's much more sophisticated and neat." said the guy, slightly amused by this cat girl. Just as the guy was about to leave and be on his way, Koshka stopped him,"wait! your leaving?! Well whats your name? I dont even know you. OMG Im koshka and I love your claws, they're like mine see!"

"Uh I'm taka...? And... I like your dress?"

"Aww Thank you!" Koshka grinned, " OH I have an idea, let's have a competition!" Intrigued he agreed to it and asked her what the competition was.

"It's a race. To see who's the fastest." she said.

"What's in it for me?"

"It's uuhh, you can have all my candy and gold coins. BUT if I win you get to teach me how to do that twirly dance."

"Deal" taka said. He now started to stretch his arms while listening to her.

" Okay so the rules are— here follow me— ok, the starting line is here,( the top of a shackled rooftop three blocks from the dragon parade) and the finish line is allll the way to that pond where all the lanterns and lilies are."
