It all took place a month ago, the little incident that happened to be the beginning of an unbreakable friendship between two teens.

And it always replayed in (y/n)'s head, not that she hated it, she actually was fond of the fact that her brain decided to remember that moment.

She liked that she remembered that moment so clearly, every bit, every word.

"(y/n)? What's up? You've been staring at that flower for a whole minute now."

The tan colored hand of the speaker shook the girl's shoulder.

"Oh! Max- Uh, I'm just really tired.. Don't worry about it." She gave a toothy smile, and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

Max squinted, staring the other down as if she had just committed murder, then hummed. "Alright.." He glared, almost as if he didn't believe her.

During the month that went by, Max and (y/n) formed a bond, one that could be comparable to steel.

The curly haired male was pretty sweet around (y/n), not completely, but somewhat. He would hug her from time to time, not that he was one for affection, but nonetheless, (y/n) liked it.

"I'm hungry." The male stood from his spot, "Wanna grab sumn' from the mess hall?"

The other shrugged, "I'm not too hungry, but a snack sounds nice right about now."

She grabbed Max's sleeve and pulled herself up, causing him to stumble, and nearly losing his balance.

"Wow, you're rude." He shot a glare.

"Oh hush, you. You're really not one to speak about rudeness." She grinned, beginning to walk absentmindedly to the mess hall.

He huffed playfully, and followed close behind.

Max held his tray out to the QM, only to flinch as what seemed to be mashed potatoes, was smacked onto it.

He cringed, and turned around, making his way to the lunch table, where Neil, Nikki, and (y/n) sat.

The curly haired boy slammed his tray on the table, cause the trio to jump.

"Fuck you." (y/n) flicked the other's arm as he sat down.

"You could've killed someone with a scare like that, you could've killed ME!" Neil crossed his arms dramatically.

"Oh, Neil. Always such a scaredy-cat." Nikki giggled, patting his head.

"You act like you weren't just clinging onto (y/n) a second ago." Max smirked.

"Leave her alone." (y/n) yanked one of Max's curls, a slight giggle escaping her lips as he gaped.

Damn, he has pretty eyes. She thought to herself, then shaking the thought away, What am I thinking?

"You wound me, (y/n)." He pushed out his bottom lip, and fluttered his lashes sarcastically.

"Shut up." She rolled her eyes, and grabbed the spork on Max's tray and pushed the mashed potatoes around.

"I'm eating that." Adding emphasis on the sentence, he poked her forehead, causing her to blink twice, and giggle.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Max laid on his bed, legs up, "I'm so bored."

"Goddamn, you are so whiny."

(y/n) was also plopped on the male's bed, her own legs dangling off the side of the bed.

"Entertain me." He sat up, his feet flopping onto her lap.

"Isn't it your job to entertain me?"

"Eh. Don't feel like it today. It is a Saturday, after all."

"Fine, then. What do you want?"

"Hmmm.. Well.. I've been thinking about going to Spooky Island. Campbell must have something interesting over there."

The girl shuddered. Really? Spooky Island of all places? It made her skin crawl, just by thinking about it.

"What? You scared?" He twirled his finger, after noticing the obvious change in the girl's expression.

"No! Not at all!"

"Then let's go." He hopped off the bed, gesturing her to get up. "It'll be fun. Plus, I think a saw a few bottles of vodka that we get definitely snag while we're there."

He rubbed his hands together mischievously, as well as a childish grin spreading across his face.

(y/n) sighed, and stood up, "Fine. We can go. But only if Neil and Nikki can tag along."

"Deal."
