Charles wanted to be a priest, so he dedicated himself to the seminary. He was the fourth child of five children, the only male child of his parents. His older siblings were married, but they had issues with having children.
His parents thought it wise to beg him to get married, he could be the only one to give them grandchildren. "Please son, do this for us", they'd plead each day to Charles but he constantly refused saying, "I've made up my mind".His older siblings who were severely focused on having children, made time to visit him at school. They chatted with their little brother, ate with him and then brought up marriage. "Just try to reconsider", his elder sister said sweetly, but he only frowned deeply. He yelled, "What don't any of you understand!? I've got my mind made up!" The eldest started,"Calm down younger brother, we're trying to reason with you. We understand you very well-", then the third sister cut in, "-but your family is very desperate, we need you". Charles' hardened expression softened, "I can't help, I'm sorry. You can wait for Amara to get married, maybe she can have children". "Amara cannot save our legacy, it's only you", the second sister said.
That night when they left, they got Charles thinking. He felt guilty and very upset, so he bowed down his head and prayed for discernment.During the summer holiday, Charles spent a lot of time with his family. They went on picnics, to fairs and carnivals, that ought to have been the last summer he had with them for a very long time. Charles already got an admission into the seminary, there he would start his life.
One evening, Charles was going down for dinner. Before he stepped into the dining room, he heard his family discussing in hushed voices, he couldn't pick what they were discussing about, but he went in anyway. He was finally happy that his family accepted his decision, but very little did he know."Hello family!" Charles greeted as he entered, "hello", everyone chorused. They looked suspicious, he looked from his brothers in-law to his parents and then his sisters. The youngest looked rather shy to meet his eyes, "Amara, how are you?", he chirped. There was silence in the room as all their gazes were on Amara, "I'm f-fine, thank you". Amara stuttered and blushed a little. 'Weird', Charles thought.
"Charles, sit down let us share the grace", Charles obeyed, they shared the grace and began to eat.
Soon after, his parents announced that a party will be thrown the next day in Charles' honour. He was elated, there were cheers all around him.
When Charles got to his room, he began inviting all his high school friends, everyone was coming. He slept with a smile on his face. He was just happy about his family's acceptance. The next evening, the party was in full swing and Charles had a lot to drink. He played games with his friends; would you rather, never have I ever, truth or dare, seven minutes in heaven and so on. His friends were so happy for him and he was happy for himself. The party ended a while later, Charles was drunk as a skunk and his family bid him good night. "You'll have a hangover in the morning, take these", his mother handed him some aspirin. "Thanks mom", he took the pills and kissed her briefly on her cheek.
Charles as tired as ever, pulled off his shoes and fell asleep almost immediately.
It was then Amara stepped in, she took off her clothes and then undressed her elder brother. When she was satisfied, she whispered solemnly, "I don't want it to be like this, but you have to keep the family's legacy".
She carefully straddled her brother and made love to him, he subconsciously ejaculated inside her.
When Amara was done, she slept beside her brother immensely expectant. The next morning when Charles woke up, he felt groggy. But that didn't stop him from noticing the naked girl beside him, he looked under the cover and noticed he was naked too. His eyes went wide in shock, "what have I done?", he kept repeating under his breath as he slowly got dressed, his hands were shaking seriously.Amara stirred awake and turned to look at him buttoning his shirt, "good morning", she said as per usual. Charles, startled by the voice slowly looked over at her with a pained expression. He didn't know he slept with his sister, his world was crumbling to the ground and he was helpless. He slid down to the ground and began to weep for his lost innocence.
Amara left his room fully dressed, to meet her family face to face in the dining room. She wasn't happy about what she did at all, in a way she felt used by her family. But no matter what, blood is thicker than water. "He's crying", she said and that was the only thing she said to them for weeks.
The symptoms of pregnancy began to rear their ugly heads, Amara was a bit satisfied, but she wasn't ready to be a mother. She didn't even know if she could get pregnant.
After that night, Charles apologized for everything that happened. But Amara kept thinking, 'if only he knew what really happened'.Amara announced to the family, during a Sunday afternoon lunch that she was pregnant. Charles was extremely depressed and that took its toll on him. His father called a doctor to check up on him. When the doctor left, Charles was told the truth by his family. Charles shook with hot tears in his eyes, he was deconsecrated out of his family's selfishness. He didn't feel right with God and so he went straight to the seminary for help, that was the last his family heard of him.
Luckily for his family's legacy, Amara gave birth to a boy who automatically took on the family's name. Charles lived his dreams and severed all ties with his family, he soon had a new family in the seminary.
