I SNIFFED , hearing my parents talk about moving. I didn't want to move. I liked it here, in our remote home in Tennessee. we lived on a quiet cul-de-sac, in a moderately big brick house. unfortunately the walls were very slim, so I could hear my parents fighting/talking. usually they got along but now that were moving, they fight allot more. my grandma says its a phase. I hope it is.
"JIM! its Scarsdale! things are expensive in New York now! IT ISNT WHAT IT WAS IN 1995!" I heard my mom scream. Scarsdale... I opened my laptop and searched "Scarsdale" up, and clicking on the wiki page.
Scarsdale is a town and village in Westchester County, New York, United States. The Town of Scarsdale is coextensive with the Village of Scarsdale.
a town? I imagined a old town with dirt roads and horses. I heard a knock on my door, making me jump.
"ava?" the head peeked in, and I recognized it as my mom.
"yea mom?" I curled up in a ball in my bed, closing my eyes.
"you okay?" I felt her sit on the side of my bed
"yeah mom, im fine" I mumbled into my pillow.
"we have something to tell you" I knew what she wanted to tell me, but I told myself to act surprised. "were moving." I fake gasped and sat up, opening my eyes.
"what!" her eyes looked cloudy, and she also was very pale.
"were moving to Scarsdale, New York." i looked down, sad. as much as I was faking this, I also was really disappointed. then something popped into my mind, like one of those cartoony lightbulbs above their head. I saved that in my mind for later, going back into my bed.
"go away mom." I mumbled.
"listen, if your mad at me, it was dads idea too!" she yelled from my door, shutting it. after her footsteps got quieter and quieter, I got up and turned on my phone, clicking on my internet best friends contact. after 2 rings she answered.
"Av?" she asked
"Hi Chlo! I got some good news" I grinned.
"what is it?" she asked, curious.
"you live in Scarsdale right?" my grin grew bigger and bigger.
"yea? why?" I squealed.
"IM MOVING TO SCARSDALE!" I screamed, forgetting I was supposed to be acting sad for my mom.
"FOR REAL? OH MY GOSH!!! AHHHHH!!!" she screamed, matching my tone.
"AHHhhHHH IM SO HAPPY" I squealed, a bit quieter this time.
"WHEN?" I thought for a second, then put her on FaceTime. her face popped up, her brown hair messy, as it was only 10:00 am.
"ill go ask my mom!" I ran out of my room, down the stairs, and into my kitchen, skidding to a halt. "mom?" I asked. she looked up from the papers she was writing. she looked at me, her glasses sliding to the tip of her nose.
"yes ava?"
"I just wanted to know...when are we moving to Scarsdale?" she sighed and looked down.
"three days." I gasped and dropped my phone on the carpet under me. my mouth still open, I picked up my phone and rapidly nodded at my mom, running back to the stairs.
"AJHHHHHH!" I whispered-yelled into my phone, Chloe doing the same.
"oh" I gasped
"my" she squealed
