When I texted Keyra, I felt butterflies in my stomach and a sudden urge to see her. It was getting pretty late now and I decided to space my mind off things and told her I would be heading to bed even though I knew my thoughts wouldn't let me. I took my bag to get my prescription sleeping pills knowing to only get one, but I took four and shoved them right into my mouth. I felt as if I couldn't breathe while my head pounded slowly. I moaned in pain until as I could only see red leaving my eyesight in a blur, after awhile I fainted on my bed and fell asleep.

The next morning, I woke up suddenly with an irresistible headache and tried to check on the time unable to read it. I sat on my bed feeling pretty much like shit regretting the poor choice I had made last night. I felt a sudden ache on my stomach and ran to the bathroom in my room as I tighly wrapped my hands over my stomach. I threw up feeling weak and unable to walk. I shakily walked to my room, slowly dressed, and made my way out of my room. I checked my phone able to read the time at last. In front of Mike's bedroom door, I bang loudly on his door and say, "Get you're fucking ass up cunt! I'm finna wait on the car hurry up." He groaned and said, "God damn I'm coming."

In the car, "Dylan you seem troubled, what's up?" He said staring at me. "I'm," I stuttered. "I'm fine I'm fine" I said with my hand on my head in pain. "Dylan you're not okay" he said with a different tone worriedly. "Shut the fuck up nigga I'm fine!" I said getting annoyed. He sighed and said, "Dylan are you abusing the prescription sleeping pills again?!" He said with an upset face. "Walk your ass to school I ain't driving you anywhere dumb fuck" I said as I opened his door. "I'm not coming out!" He said insisting. "I'm gonna dead ass crash this car if you don't get out Mike!" I said getting ready to pull the pedal. "Are you insane?!" He said shook. "Fuck yeah" I said carelessly. "You're going to end up just like lil bro Dylan! In the fucking dirt because you're falling on drugs, soon to depression, and then you're going to die!!" He said shouting at me as he stomped off to walk his way to school. "Then I guess I'll end up just like him!" I shouted back. I took my Nike headband off, felt my heart drop, lowered my head, and started sobbing on my Nike headband my little brother had given to me. Michael was my little brother, my everyday motivation, my best friend, and my basketball student. Unfortunately he died of suicide at 15 which was only two years ago. After he passed away things started changing. Mike and I drifted off, I fell on drugs, and my family became cold. I have never seen the light ever since. I sighed and wiped my tears off my face and took off to school unwillingly.

At school, I tiredly stepped out of my car and the first thing I see is Keyra beside the door. "I like your car" she said smiling. "Wanna get in the front kitten?" I said with a flirty smile. "Sure thing" she said with a wink as both of us went in the car. "She puts so much trust on me as if we been known each other, anyone could easily lure her in for shit" I thought. "Is this like your dad's car or is this your own?" She asked. "It's mine cutie no worries" I said as I pulled the pedal and did a spin on the school parking lot. She laughed and said, "Stop we're gonna get in trouble." I looked at her and said, "Shit my bad." I pulled back into the parking and shut the car off. "It's fine" she said looking into my eyes. I found it hard to breathe staring at her as I started to get sweaty. "Keyra" I started. "Yeah?" She said. "You and me are um" I tried to speak. "Are what?" She said in confusion. "We're from different tribes" I said sighing. She gasped and said, "How did you uh know." I sighed again and said, "It's obvious." She sighed gently and opened the car door about to get out. I took her wrist before she could leave and pulled her back in. "That doesn't mean we can't hang kitten" I said with a smile. "Dylan it's a rule" she said with a light laugh. "Rules aren't for everyone, am I right?" I said looking at her with puppy eyes. "I guess" she said. "We should be heading though" she said. "If you promise you'll hang with me" I said with the puppy eyes. "I promise" she said with a smile. We both stepped out of the car and rushed to the school front doors.
