The friends had decided to have a day off in the city, do some shopping, eating at restaurants and other things they hadn't done in a while. They usually tried to, at least annually, go into the city since they mostly spent their time at the dorms and in the area nearby.
Jackson had spent the night at a friends house so he would be joining them there. The rest, however, was on the bus. Mark silently watched the landscape outside the window flashing by while the others were playing word games. He was seated next to Youngjae who had his back against his. Mark didn't mind though.
-"Hey, let's do three-line poem," Yugyeom suggested. The rest was always keen on doing that and they kept on laughing and playing. Youngjae turned around to Mark and tugged his shirt as if he wanted to say something.
-"There is this new pet store in the city, can't we go there and look for a new toy for Coco?" he asked with a smile. He loved his dog more than anything.
-"I don't know Youngjae if we have time I guess," Mark answered and Youngjae looked a little bummed out.
-"Oh, I get it," he said and smiled at Mark again.
When they reached the end station Jinyoung spotted Jackson waving at them from the street. People were staring at him but he didn't care. Jinyoung couldn't help but smile back at him. Sometimes he wished he had the same carefree spirit Jackson had, it would help a lot. He poked Jaebum who had been sleeping on his shoulder for the last 20 minutes and told him to wake up Bambam and Yugyeom who had played until they fell asleep behind them.
-"Eeey looking good Park," Jackson said and looked Jinyoung up and down as they got off the bus. He just gave him a smile as he knew Jackson was referring to the shirt he had gotten him earlier that year that Jinyoung had decided to wear that day.
Bambam and Yugyeom had already started to walk as soon as they got off but Jaebum spotted them.
-"Hey kids, wait," he called them all in and got a serious tone. "I know you all are excited but please try to stick together. I don't want any of you getting lost here,".
-"Yeah, of course, dad," Bambam teased and got a smile from Yugyeom. Respecting their hyungs had never been their speciality. Jaebum looked at Youngjae who nodded to show that he noted it. Bambam and Yugyeom were often a handful but at least Youngjae listened and he really appreciated that.
-"You all have phones right?" Jinyoung asked and had them all show him them as he checked their battery percentage. "Okay, all set," he added and he and Jaebum exchanged nods.
They decided to start off with some errands that they had to do in the city, in other words; get the boring stuff out of the way. Bambam had a birthday gift for his brother that he was going to send to Thailand, so he and Jackson took off to the post office. Jinyoung had been talking for days about this famous book store in town and Mark and Youngjae decided to come with him. Youngjae and Mark wanted to find some books about agility since it was time they started to train Coco. Yugyeom and Jaebum had nothing special to do so they decided to go to the record store. They decided to meet back at the station in one and a half hour to go eat.
-"Look hyung!" Youngjae said and shoved his phone in Mark's face. "They have the book we talked about last night," Mark looked and gave Youngjae a half-hearted smile.
-"That's great," he said and he could clearly see that Youngjae had seen through his fake smile. Mark felt a little bad as he saw Youngjae shrink a bit and after all, it wasn't his fault. Mark couldn't stop thinking about that smile Jinyoung gave Jackson earlier. He knew they were very close but sometimes he felt left out of the fun. Maybe he wasn't that fun to be around since he was so quiet. Jealousy grew in Mark and he tried to suppress it. He got a little mad at himself for always having those feelings, it's not like they were helping anyone.
