"I have the solution." Logan exclaimed, coming out of his office. His hair and face were more disheveled than usual, but that was a result of coffee and a constant stream of thought. The others sat around the table waiting anxiously for what Logan would say. "I've thought about almost every action, and came to the conclusion that this is best." He cleared his throat and sat down. "Patton will be first to come out and talk to him, with Janus by his side."
"I see a flaw in your plan." Remus spoke up. "Don't know if you know this, egghead, but Virgil isn't fond of the two headed snake." Logan turned to Remus, adjusting his tie, ready to answer.
"I actually have thought about it. Why would Virgil go to him in the first place if he didn't think he could help him? Maybe seeing Janus would trigger his mind to ask for help." Logan turned back towards the others.
"I go in next if they can't reason with him. Virgil calms down with factual evidence, so it seems fitting."
"This is great and all but where does the shining prince in armor come in?" Roman asked with a cocky smile. Logan cleared his throat before answering.
"You, Roman, will be hanging back more for this." Roman stood in disgust.
"How dare you make me a bread roll for this feast! I am prince Roman. The only one who can wield a sword and I've defeated that dragon witch thousands of times."
"You're not the only one who can wield a medieval weapon, brother." Remus rolled his eyes.
"I'm aware of your 'resume' but my decision is final."
"I beg your pardon." Roman glared at him. Logan stood up and stared him down.
"Then beg."
"Woah there, let's tone it down okay? We can't split up now." Patton said, bringing them both back down a notch.
"You're right. Apologies Roman. Also Patton." Logan sat down again as Roman followed. Roman rolled his eyes, but nodded in agreement.
"I didn't want to leave you in the background, Roman, especially with your skill. Believe me I've looked this over. But when I came down to my decision, you and Virgil's relationship was unsteady. That alone could jeopardize the rest of the plan." Roman slumped further into his chair. "Remus, I'm not sure if it'll come to this or not, but if things start to get out of hand, you'll knock him out with your morning star."
"The spiked ball thing?" Patton asked. Logan sighed, more from tiredness.
"Yes, Patton, the spiked ball thing." Logan stood up. "Remember, Virgil is our friend. So don't treat him as a rabid animal. We leave in an hour." Logan gathered his stuff before leaving for his room. "And Roman, WHATEVER happens out there, stay down. Understood?" Roman rolled his eyes as he left.

Patton followed after. Logan turned around to face him. "Oh, hello, Patton, did you acquire my assistance for something?"
"No, I just wanted to make sure you're okay." Logan sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
"I will be. Virgil's been taking a lot out of me. Not just that though, I worry about him."
"We all do." They didn't have to talk. Fear was written all over the room. Patton hugged Logan tight. Logan was hesitant but hugged him back. "Logan?"
"Yes, Patton?"
"Should we be afraid? Like Virgil wouldn't hurt us, right?"
"We'll be okay. I have full faith in us." Logan pulled away from Patton, not believing what he was saying. But Patton smiled brightly anyway.
"You're right. Virgil is our friend." As Patton walked out, Janus walked in. He shut the door and sat on Logan's desk.
"Now look who's being deceitful. Lie of commission, I presume." Janus smiled.
"I have to keep the moral high. Patton's still unstable from being that frog creature. I can't risk losing him either." Janus looked down and took off his hat.
"But what do you think, Logan."
"I don't know." Logan chuckled, but it was empty. "I don't know anything anymore. I don't even know if that's Virgil."
"He's taking a lot out of you. Why don't you rest until we leave?"
"No, I have to be a leader. If I'm not the smart guy, who am I?"
"A very tired Logan. Who wouldn't be much help. Take a break. I'll take care of them in the meantime." Logan nodded and sat on his bed. He gently laid himself down. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep with the amount of pressure, but he could at least rest his eyes.
