"I'm so sorry." Is all I can say.
Its been 2 hours since we've return to the Palace of Ketus and I haven't left Mrs Yoons side ever since. She refused to leave Areums side Which is completely understandable but also heart breaking. The King has been completely respectful and considerate, letting Areum having a place of rest within the castle.
That is what I have always known about our King, sure he doesn't realise how much poverty some of the people are in at the Lower town but he is a fair King for letting one of his soldiers have a place of rest within the room of other Nobles have is great sign of respect from him.
I can't thank him enough for having acknowledged Areum as a Soldier and not some random commoner. In the grand room were of basic but beautiful design of gold and red patterns on the walls with a dazzling chandelier illuminated with candles around the dangling crystals.
Around each of the walls was decorated with portraits of Nobles and Kings of Ketus that has fallen but also respected Knights that has fought along side them. In the middle of the room was a marble bed, shiny with a black and white design.
Areum layed there still however peaceful. The maids had already dressed her in a breath taking white dress that had a lace collar and long sleeves also with lace. Her silky black hair freshly brushed and rested on her shoulders.
On top of her head is a crown. A graceful crown of Plumeria flowers woven together creating a striking yellow and pink crown. In her hands she held purple Tulips which rested on her stomach. She reminded me of a fallen Princess, a courageous Princess.
It was silent in the room. Mrs Yoon's pale face is finally dried of her weeping tears although the despair in her eyes never fading. I wished there was something I could do, I hate myself for not being able to protect her like I promised I would.
"I know that look." Mrs Yoon croaked out quietly while she still held her gaze on her sleeping daughter while gently stroking a lock of Areums hair. I fixed my gaze at the mourning mother not knowing how to reply to her.
"It was the same look your Mother gave me once before." She finished, my eyes widen in complete shock.
"You knew my Mother?" I asked her in a shaky voice, Why did Mrs Yoon never told me she knew her?
"Mmm." Mrs Yoon nodded her head softly as stopped touch Areum and now is peering at me with a soft smile on her face. "We both grew up together, My Mother took her in when she was 13 and ever since we both became inseparable." Mrs Yoons spoke delicately as though shes reminiscing her time she had with Annabelle.
"She was the one who inspired me to carry on with the family business, without her I wouldn't have my cute little bakery and I wouldn't have met Areums Father"
"What was she like?" I know this is not important right now however I couldn't help but to ask.
"Oh, she was a lot like you, I think that's what make you so similar to her. She was a fighter always stood up for what's right even if meant she would either get in trouble or hurt. She was so compassionate and loving. It was easy to be jealous of her as everybody seemed to instantly like her from the first minute they would converse with her although she never really paid much mind to it." Mrs Yoon informed me, how am I similar to her? She sounds so much better to me, are they sure she's my Mother?
"She sounded amazing. I wished I could have met her." I sadly smiled at her, okay enough Jimin; its not about you stop feeling sorry for yourself and be there for Mrs Yoon.
"I wished you could have too. When I found out her passing, I couldn't help but wonder what happened to her. Then I found out." Mrs Yoon frowned at her last bit of the sentence.
