The endless journey

Chapter 3: Into the blue

Story so far: in the early caveman times there was a baby boy that had been born whose name was Dan. When he had reached the age of 20,he realized he stopped growing. He left the family and decided to travel around the world. 

It was dawn, Dan was staring into the blue. He observed carefully how the 'waves' were drifting.He was so mesmerised, he had continued sitting there for a while not realising that the early sunrise was now the pleasant morning. The 'family' with whom he had been living with for a while now (basically ever since he arrived there) were now smiling at him. He smiled back at them as they threw a 'fishing net' into the blue. Watching them 'fish' had only made him more desperate to see what the blue was and how he was going to cross it. It had already been a few years and Dan was starting to want to go back now. 

He kept wondering how his 'family' was. Yet he had no answer to the question. He only had to keep thinking positive that their 'family tree' was still alive. A lot more days went by like this, and when these days became years, Dan was pretty desperate to go back as he had no other choice. It was a new day and Dan was sitting and arranging wood for a fire, to make sure he make the right decision and not regret it. So he kept the wood near him to arrange them in order when a big 'wave' had come and taken a wood log with it, but much to the his surprise, the wood was 'floating'... As the waves came , the wood kept coming back towards him. He picked up the log and decided he had to tell this to someone and so he told this to the 'family'. The 'family' obviously didn't believe it, and no matter how many times Dan had told this, the 'family' only started to believe that Dan was 'dumb'. This went for a day and now Dan had been kicked out of the 'house' he had once lived with a family in. 

Luckily it was morning when this happened, so Dan sat by the 'beach' and thinking, maybe he was 'dumb'. Maybe he just saw a 'mirage'. This had made him sad as he now can't stay with anyone else because everyone thought he was 'dumb'. He kept thinking what to do and then it became afternoon when he got the idea of trying the 'floating' of that wood. He tried it again and it worked. Now he thought he can show the 'family' that he was right. As he was going to the 'house', he realized they probably wouldn't trust him anymore. So he gave up and went back to thinking. Then it struck him. What if he had taken a very big log of wood, sit on it and put it in water to see if it would 'float'. But before he put it to the test he realized he had to sit somewhere. So he made a hollow space in the log. Now he had sat on it and put it to his test. Much to his sunrise, it worked! He was 'floating' on the water. Dan was very overjoyed. All he needed to do was to get a 'fishing net' and leave the place. As he got the 'fishing net' and was about to leave, he thought, he had to give a try and say goodbye to the 'family'. He went to the 'House', and knocked and the 'family' opened the door. They saw Dan and immediately closed it. Dan had lost hope and was going... But what he did not realize was that the 'family' was following Dan. As Dan got on the wood, he saw the 'family' and was shocked! The family came towards him to bid him goodbye and said sorry to him for calling him 'dumb'. (They finally believed him after seeing the log themselves) and that they missed him. Dan was now happy and left into the blue, setting out, on a new journey.
