CHAPTER 4 (Scolded😔)

Sorry for the delay guys😕 i had been a little bit busy😓i apologize for my lateness

So i would be dropping this chapter 😊

I woke up feeling so weak with my eyes very heavy like they were soaked in tears, my eyes where swollen cause i cried all night, not knowing when i slept off.

I glanced at the wall clock, it was few minutes to ten, and work always resumes 8:30am. I had already been tagged the most unpunctual worker, and everyone knew me because of my lateness, urghh!  Even Mrs Dorcas got tired of talking to me about it, and i really don't want Mr Ralph to see me that way.

"God am so late" i shouted angrily.

I got to work really very late, everyone's eyes were on me, i was beginning to get scared. I walked up to Gabriel.

"Hey, what's up, why is everyone eyes on me" i asked with a worried face.

"Hmmm, Mr Raphael called the attendance list this morning and noticed you weren't at work yet, i think Mrs Dorcas had told him about your late attendance to work too. You know he was really........" Gabriel said before he was interrupted by a loud voice.

"Hey! You!! In my office  right now!!!

I stood rooted to the ground, i was so scared to look to the direction of the loud voice until Gabriel told me it was Mr Ralph. I turned back and saw he was gone.

"Don't worry Miranda, you will be fine" Gabriel said to me,while I walked to Mr Raphael's office.

I stood at the front of the door to Mr Raphael's office, i glanced at my hands, they were shaking, oh God! Am scared, am nervous.
I finally opened the Door. My heart melted immediately i saw him, his looks were making me forget my worries. He was damn too handsome not to stare at.
Before he could open his mouth to talk i was already talking, pleading.

"Sir, please am so sorry, i overslept sir , i...i..i was rushing to work and got delayed by a zebra that came out of the highway and the whole traffic got jammed. I tried my possible best sir, am so sorry" laugh out loud,God!  What the hell am i saying.

Mr Ralph just stood, speechless, staring in a way like 'what is this lady saying ' till he finally was able to say something to me.

"The next time you come this late, i will make sure you loose your job! Out of my office now!! Silly!!!" He shouted at me. immediately i work out of the office.

I shut the door behind me, placing my both hands on my chest like i just ran a marathon race, my heart was beating so fast.

"Oooops!  Thank you Lord for another great lie"

Jeez that was so close, i really don't how i feel right now, am happy and sad at the same time, so ridiculous.

I walked down the stairs,everyone was wondering on what Mr Raphael might have done, they were all whispering, they didn't even know i could hear them.

Gabriel walked up to me, with saddness written all over his face,he might have thought i had loose my job, Hell no!! Am a good liar, ha ha haa!!!  oh Godforgive me.

"Hey Mirand, am sorry, i know how you feel, don't worry you will get a better job,am sure of that" he said with pity all over his face, i burted out laughing.

"What the hell are you saying? I didn't loose my job" i said still laughing, this time everyone stood looking at us.

"Wow!! Am glad, i was already freaking out, i was fucking scared" he said,pulling me closer to his chest,giving me a tight hug,while I just smiled. Don't you think i have the best friends ever.

"Hey back to work guys!!! Our customers are hungry" i said with a wide smile reaching my eyes. It's good to know i have people who care a lot  about me.

We walked home, i and Gabriel, we were done for today's work.

"Miranda,I've been wanting to tell you something"

"Uh alright, go on"

"Uhmmm, it's about jake, i think he's back, have been seeing him around, and i think he's ready to settle down in this town" he said with a worried look. I just stood like i was a statue, i opened my mouth to say something but no words came out, i was beginning to feel my palms sweating. I need air! air!!

Gabriel noticed my state of shock and came to stand in front of me holding my shoulders.

"It's okay mirand, you would be alright, remember i and Dora are always here for you. okay" he said while I only nodded. I was short of words, i just couldn't say a word, i was in total shock.

We walked home quietly till we said our goodbyes.

I wasn't myself anymore, i needed someone to calm me down, i needed Dora. I needed her warm hug.

I opened the door and met Dora lying on the sofa, operating her phone as usually. Immediately she saw me, she sat upright waiting for me to come sit beside her. I walked to her and lay on her laps and began crying.

"What's wrong uhn?  Tell me please, please"

"It's jake, he's back in town" I said crying like a little baby.

"What! Jake!! How do you know"

"Gabriel told me, he's been seeing him around for some days now"

"And so, is that the reason you are crying your eyes out, it's not like Jake could just come and drag you away with him and do what ever he likes with you" i sat up, staring at her while I cleaned my eyes with my hands, a smile appearing on my face but didn't reach my eyes. "You aren't no kid Miranda, you have to be strong and stop crying over Jake, you have to get over it, stop those bad memories from ruining your life, keep bad energy far from you. Okay" she said to me like my mother would .  Hmmm  it saddens my heart to feel and think i don't have parents, my parents died a long time in a car accident.

"I really don't know how much to thank you Dora, you are indeed a great friend, a sister and a mother. You are my family Dora, i love you so much" i said sobbing.

"I love you more, and always remember that i and Gabriel are always here for you. And promise to never cry over this again"

"I promise" i said, raising my right hand up like i was taking a oat.

"Thanks for being part of my life" i said, giving her a tight hug.

"Jeeez! Miranda you are squeezing the  life outta me" she chuckled, while I started laughing.

Dora is a blessing, her words motivates me,i feel very happy right now.

It's a good thing tomorrow is my off at work, i want to spend it with the two special people in my life.
