Iris POV

"So what's the plan for tonight" I asked Talia as I dug into my french fries.
I was seating at the very end of the table..facing noone in particular...I was leaning sideways to listen to the conversation at the other end of the table.

"My mom isn't letting me go out this weekend..Im sorry Iris I really wanted to be with you though"Talia  answered me as she gave me a side hug

Talia had been my bestfriend since eighth grade and we never really hung out with anyone else until now.
Jackie and Cyrus had recently joined our school and unfortunately 'we' just started hanging out with them.
By 'we' I mean Talia
I was halfway through my food when Jackie, Talia and Cyrus stood and started leaving the table
"Wait I'm almost done"I yelled as I stuffed my face with the remaining fries

"Dude we have cheer practice and we're already late"Jackie exclaimed as she dragged Talia through the cafeteria and Cyrus following behind.
Talia gave me an apologetic look before she disappeared into the crowd

I wasn't at all surprised as I took our my phone to look less lonely sitting on an empty table.. I then gathered enough courage to walk out of the cafeteria and head to my volleyball practice session.

"Good afternoon ladies!! "Coach Jones said enthusiastically..."let's get into our usual teams and play a short friendly game for today"
I beamed happiky as I made my way into the court...

HE WALKED IN!!!!
His rugby uniform clung tight to his toned body...His perfect lips...God those lips‼ and eyes....his hair..I wondered what it felt like to swipe my hands through his hair as his lips discovered my body..Damn I would let him ruin my life and still want him.
Darcy Rogers was the finest boy at our school...He was a senior and as much as I wanted him to notice me....I knew it would never happen because he went for the perfect girls
Like Jackie..Talia and Cyrus....Tbh..I did not consider myself pretty enough to be seen by him

His friend Carter who was also good looking walked beside him as they made their way to coach Jones
"Hello!! Earth to Iris....Girl you need to grow some balls and just talk to him"Tina said as she shook me hysterically
Tina was one of my closest team mates and one of the only people I actually enjoyed being with apart from Talia...
"I would say the same thing to you about Carter"I chuckled as I slightly hit her arm.
Suddenly coach Jones called my name and to say I was startled is an understatement..

My heart was beating out of my chest as I took steps closer to him as Darcy and Carter were still with him
"Keep calm Iris...they're just boys...you can do this baby girl....don't blow this"I gave myself I mini pep talk..
I felt as though I forgot how to walk but I finally reached the three.

"Could you please take the boys to my office and give them the cones by my desk"he saud as he handed me the keys.
"Sure..No problem"I softly said

I made my way out of the gym with the two boys behind me as Tina winked at me..
I stuck my tongue andiddle finger at her as I then realized that Darcy had been staring at me
My cheeks became ablaze as I realized that I probably looked crazy throwing gang signs to noone in particular
He chose not to say anything as he kept a straight face and continued talking to Carter
We reached Coach's office as I gave them the cones and turned to lock the door..
" Thanks...Iris right? "Carter said as I nodded in return..
Darcy just nodded at me and soon the two boys were heading their way as I made my way back to the gym.

Volleyball dragged by quickly and I groaned as the final bell rang....
Fridays always went by so fast..but I wasn't complaining though

I threw on my sports jumper on top of my long sleeve shirt and spandex shorts as I was in no mood to change and I was already going home.
