"i just got surgery today." karma breathed out. rio looked puzzled. "what do you mean surgery?" she asked. "hanahaki surgery..."

rio froze. with thoughts running through her head, she picked the most logical one to say out loud. "who did you like"

karma sighed, and put his hands behind his head. letting himself drop onto his bed, he told her.

"you."

rio's eyes watered. "are you fucking serious? this isn't fair.." karma grabbed her arm, pulling her in for a hug. "i know." he sighed, then decided to lighten the mood

"what did we do to deserve this?"

he sighed, then decided to lighten the mood. "i would've stood with the disease if i knew you'd react like this." 

she hit his shoulder and sniffled, "it's not worth it."

"you're worth dying for." 

that sentence alone made rio let out a sob she never knew she had in her.
