Year: 1918
Location: Western Front, FranceJake pov.
Its been four years since what is known to be "The War To End All Wars" we all thought the war will end by Christmas, but it didn't. More lives were lost including all my friends we enlist in '14 and it seems that this war will never end not even when the U.S. got involved, there will be more destruction and more deaths.
British soldier: lieutenant, the captain wants to see you.
Me: Alright I'll be there.
I grab my rifle and put on my helmet soon follow the soldier.
*Timeskip*
As I walk through the trenches I can see how beaten up the trench and need improvement.
(There more soldiers)
I can see thier in their eyes........tired and scared, most of these men are teens Recruits there's not enough of veterans or experienced soldiers to keep these guys alive.British soldier: He's just down here sir.
Me: Ok--
I was Interrupt by the sound of multiple whistling and I quickly recognize it were bombs I yell to the men to take cover, we all try to cover ourselves and laying down, the bombs miss their Mark except one which follows screaming and yelling. I stand and run to the location it was a horrid sight to see, three soldiers are dead that are missing their legs or arms while there man holding his missing leg screaming. I run to him grab his belt rapping around the stump leg and tightening.
Me: stretcher!
Wound soldier: P-please! I don't want to die!
Me: You're not going to die, you are going to go home and see your family and go on with your life.
Wound soldier: P-promise...
I knew this was a lie but had to keep him from giving up and maybe he might live, but its a fifty-fifty chance.
Me: Promise.
He smiles at me before lookup in the sky and gives out loud sigh, I notice he not breathing and lifeless check his pulse, and there was nothing.
Me:*sigh* Damit.
British medic: Excuse me, coming through.
I look to see the stretchers finally arrive the medic notice he wasn't moving and he went to check him but I interrupted.
Me: No need, I check his pulse and he's dead.
British medic: Oh sorry.
British soldier: lieutenant, we have to go thier waiting.
Me: Alright.
I got up and walk towards the soldier but not before I look back at the fallen soldier as they take him away, I look at the soldier and continue to follow him.
