*Third pov*
Across from the Britsh trench in No Mans Land, there is thousands of German wearing gas masks, rifles with a bayonet attached charging right at them. Jake is in charge after finding out the Major and Captian are dead as of now the soldiers are asking him important questions.
Britsh Solider: What are doing now, Sir!
As the Luetanet looks in No Mans Lands seeing the german army charging right at and knowing that they don't have the men to fight them off so the only thing to do is.....
Jake: FALL BACK! FALL BACK TO THE SECOND TRENCH!
The soldiers yell Fall back throughout the trench as they rush out, the soldiers can hear the germans coming closer to them, and each of them stops to fire their rifles before running again. Some British fight the germans in close combat, some won, and a few lost their lives eventually the British including Jake made it to the second trench.
Captian: What's GOING ON!
Jake: A German Offensive charge and broke through our trench!
Captain: Who your commanding officer?
Jake: I am both commanders are dead.
Solider: Thier coming right towards us!
Both officers see thousands of german soldiers charging at their trench, they grab their rifles aimed at the enemy.
Captian/Jake: Men, prepare to fire!
As they wait for them........waited........waited...... and waited until they see the grey color of the gas masks.
Captain/Jake: FIRE!
Jake and the British soldiers open their rifles rain bullets on the Germans Assualt killing or injuring them, but unfortunately no matter how many bullets they unleash the german army keeps coming. Jake notices that the German forces are coming closer to their trench, and he knows that they don't have the numbers to fend off the assault as he knows their running low on ammo not to mention losing men.
Jake: Sir, We need to retreat or we'll be overwhelmed.
Captain: Okay! First of all your a leftenant and I'm a captain I'll give the commands around here-
As the captain finishes his sentence a straight bullet went throw the officer's head killing him instantly, as Jake watches the officer's lifeless body falls still in shock at what happened he look up and see soldiers in shock as they saw the whole thing.
B.Solider: W-well, uh sir you are in charge now.
Jake: A-alright, pass the word that we're retreating immediately when I give the signal.
B.Soldier: Alright sir.
The soldier left him to tell his comrades about the orders except for one, which goes unnoticed by Jake.
Jake: What is it, soldier?
B.soldier 2: Sir, notice you only mention the company and not you.
Jake: Yes, you guys are going I'll be covering you.
B.Soldier2: Sir, you guy handle them alone won't even make.
Jake: If I don't draw the line and hold my ground to cover your retreat then we'll all be slathered.
B.Solider2: Sir, you don't have to do this we retreat and-
Jake: No! You have to retreat reunite with other units tell high command of this situation you got!
