This morning Jaemin decided to get up out of bed early. Yesterday was declared a day off for Coff-Lee after the big holiday event and Jaemin was let off the hook. He had slept in and spent the day watching dramas, in which every kiss scene reminded him of what had happened the previous day. In honesty, he had subconsciously been thinking about the kiss between him, Renjun and Jeno the entire day.
Today was different, as Jaemin wanted to wake up a bit early and get out of the house. There was nothing better than staying inside all day fro him, but on this particular day the indoors felt suffocating and he wanted to get a little bit of air. Maybe he would stop by and see how Jeno and Renjun were doing.
Rolling over to reach over the side of his bed, Jaemin took his phone off of the nightstand beside him and held it up in front of his face. He used his finger to swipe at the screen, turning off his alarm that screeched raw into his ears. On the home screen it showed the time, six in the morning, but also surprisingly a message notification that would normally not be there first thing in the morning. He unlocked the phone as he sat up in his bed, rubbing his eyes to better see the message.
Nono <3
Hey, Minnie
Injun and I have smth to
talk to you about
Could you come by the
cafe asap?
ThnxThe message had been sent about ten minutes ago. Ruffling his own messy hair, Jaemin texted a back a response and jumped out of bed to go wash up.
Nono <3
Sure, I'll be over in 20
Sure enough, twenty minutes later Jaemin was one block away from Coff-Lee, confidently sporting a short length warm brown jacket. Underneath was a silk button down shirt in a creme color, the first few buttons unbuttoned to show a little bit of collarbone. He had simple black pants and vans on his bottom half. He already had this outfit ready since yesterday, and even though he thought he looked good, he was a bit nervous to what the other two would think about it.
As he approached the cafe, he noticed there was something off. Strangely, instead of the usual busy crowd of people bustling about in and out of the building to get their morning fix, there was an even bigger crowd both inside and waiting outside. Some were holding up signs with pictures and words on them, but Jaemin was too far away to see what they were. They were talking loudly, some squealing even periodically. Most were girls, young in age, although there were some boys joining them as well.
Suddenly Jaemin heard a whispering to the right of him, as if someone was calling for him. He turned to his side and there Jeno stood, in the alley between Coff-Lee and the neighboring building. He seemed to be trying to hide himself from the people standing outside.
When Jeno had caught the other's eye, he quickly gestured for him to come to him. His hand that was free he brought up to his mouth, pointer finger on his lips to signal that they should be quiet.
Confused but not wanting to go against what Jeno was telling him to do, Jaemin walked quickly over to to him, sparing one last glance at the crowd outside the building. Before he could open his mouth to ask what was happening, Jeno shook his head and whispered to him.
"Come inside and I'll explain everything. Injun's waiting for us in the kitchen."
Jaemin nodded in response and followed Jeno, walking up to the door at the side of the building. Jeno looked back at the entrance of the alleyway to make sure there wasn't anyone there to see and opened the door, walking inside and then holding it open for Jaemin. They were both directly inside the kitchen now, a fresh-faced Renjun staring back at them as they entered the room.
Renjun skipped over to Jaemin and wrapped his arms around Jaemin's chest from the side, looking up with a soft smile. "Good morning, Minnie. We both missed you."
Jaemin only smiled at the action, having to ignore his heart obviously picking up speed. He looked at Jeno, who nodded to agree with what Renjun had said. His smiled remained for a couple of seconds, but then faded to be replaced by a confused look. "Why did you two want to talk to me? Does the huge amount of people outside that we saw have anything to do with it?" He asked, one of his hands thinking for itself as it trailed up to rest on Renjun, gently caressing the shorter man's hair.
"Here's the thing," Jeno replied. "Remember before yesterday, at the festival? Our booth and event were big hits, but they weren't the only thing people took a liking to. You've gained so many fans that people are now crowding the building because they want to see you, since they don't know where else they can find you. There was some yesterday too, but more today because the cafe is actually open."
Jaemin gulped, "F-fans? Those people are here for me?"
Jeno nodded. "Sure they are. When they all saw the, uh, scene between the three of us before yesterday," he bit his lip, as if it would help conceal the obvious blush they noticed that you haven't been associated with Coff-Lee before. Or anything, for that matter. i guess they took a liking to you."
"Why, though?" Jaemin asked.
"Why wouldn't they?" Renjun suddenly spoke up, looking up at Jaemin. Realizing where his hand was placed, Jaemin slowly lowered it down while Renjun continued to talk. "You're mysterious and attractive. Like, hella attractive."
Jaemin had to stop his eyes from widening, but he couldn't stop his face from going red. He breathed deeply and pretended that he didn't look like a tomato. "So, what now?"
In front of him, Jeno seemed to be hesitating to give the answer to his answer, looking nervous. When Jeno glanced at his boyfriend, Renjun gave him a slight nod, although it was careful and hesitant too.
"My dad came to me to talk about it. He said we should offer you a job, if you have time and energy. Of course, you don't have to do it if you don't want to-"
"Part-time?" Jaemin asked.
"Mhm."
"What times?"
"You could take evening shifts, or just work on weekends. We can work something out if you think you'll be busy."
"I'll do it."
Renjun unlatched himself from Jaemin, switching to hopping up and down in place with joy. Jeno and Jaemin smiled, watching with adoration.
"We can all work together, now!" Renjun exclaimed. The other two nodded. "Minnie, do you want to go into the cafe and greet your fans?'
Jaemin thought about it, then shrugged. "I'm in a good mood today, why not?" Renjun grinned and started to lead the way to the door that lead to the crowd. Jeno called out to Renjun and gestured that they would follow him out in a minute, so Renjun left the room with a nod.
Grabbing onto Jaemin's shoulder with a gentle hold, Jeno stopped the two of them and turned to face him. He reached for Jaemin's shirt, buttoning up the buttons until not as much skin was showing on Jaemin's outfit. He fixed Jaemin's collar and then brushed off on the jacket of the younger's shoulders, smiling at him. "As much as I would like to see you with all buttons unbuttoned, let's just stick to one for now, yeah?" Jeno winked, taking Jaemin's hand and starting to walk out to join Renjun with the crowd.
Flabbergasted, Jaemin silently followed, walking close to Jeno's confident figure.
