The cool, crisp night breeze was welcoming as I walked towards the abandoned park. The cracked pavestone had different types of weeds that sprung to life not long ago. I looked up from the dirty gray stone and found the broken swing set not far from where I stood.

The stress from loads of homework was finally getting to me mentally and physically. My eyes were dull and had dark bags under the black lashes of my eyes. My professors have been scolding me for falling asleep in their classes.

I walked towards one of the swing seats that didn't look to damaged, and sat down. The seat created under the unfamiliar weight being pressed down upon it.

My eyes had soon found the pale moon high in the sky. It's silver beauty could easily captivate anyone who dares to look upon the night sky. The stars were brighter out here than though my apartment window. They shown like diamonds, using what little time they have to shine, they did so proudly.

I slowly took my eyes off of the beautiful sight. Sighing to myself I looked around the old play sets. The metal slide rusted and dented, the shine that it once held had completely vanished. The old, cracked water fountain was on its side, left there to slowly wither away.

Another soft sigh escaped my slightly chapped lips as I reminisced about being a care free child. So full of life and light, yet that fades away in time.

I got off of the seat with as much caution I could muster, after all it's never a good feeling when you have peices of wood in your arm. The seat creaked again as my weight had been lifted off of the old peice of plastic.

I took long, slow steps to take everything in as I walked to my new destination. The trees around me danced with the wind as it whispered in the ears of whoever was listening.

I closed my eyes listening to its soft whistles as it brushed my hair against my face. I smiled to myself softly. I continued to walk towards the wooden benches on the other side of the abandoned place once filled with children's laughter and shouts of glee.

I cracked my eyes open to look at the cluster of trees again. The bark, a dark shade of brown looked black in places not shining with the moon's light.

A soft voice was heard off in the distance. A beautiful melodious voice that held so much emotion had caught his attention. The words soft spoken and hurting.

I looked around frantically to find the source of such a sound. He walked towards the benches faster as the voice had gotten louder and louder with each step he took. His heart raced and drummed its beat in his ear.

As I past the last tree in my way towards the benches my breath caught in my throat. There on the old wooden bench sat a girl around my age singing with the melodious voice, that could put anyone in a trance. She sang with so much hurt and love, it sounded genuine. Not like the singers we have today.

Her arms were spread out as if soaking up the pale rays of light the moon gave off from the sky.

"The daughter of Artemis."
