“Unfamiliar”

It started with a small tune,
He played a song that was dear to my heart.
A song that was about himself,
A song he poured his heart and soul into making.

It was the passion he had when he held his guitar,
That brought a smile into my face from his own.
A sensation that I have never felt before rose,
Music that whispered in my heart calling his name.

It was a beautiful lullaby,
Calmed me to sleep when I was afraid--
Afraid of the dark and looking for light from nowhere
It was my sweet lullaby
An unfamiliar music calling him to me
And I wished he was here.
