Remus was unpacking the last box. He and Sirius had finally found the perfect house. It had a library for gods sake!
He didn't know what Sirius was doing, Remus wasn't worried tho. Sirius had been disappearing for hours at the time for the past few months, doing god knows what.
When he'd told Lily this she'd looked murderous.
'He better not be cheating' she'd mumbled. But Remus knew Sirius wouldn't- he wouldn't cheat right?
He shuddered at the thought, they'd been together for almost three years now...
'Hey Moony! Look what I found!' Remus looked up. Sirius came towards him holding a big dusty box.
'What's that?' Remus asked, putting down the book he was about to put on a shelf.
'These-' Sirius put the box down. 'Are memories' he finished quietly. Remus looked at the box and back at Sirius in confusion.
'Of what?' He asked
'Us' Sirius began to redden slightly. Remus smiled.
'Softie' he whispered.
'Hey! Meanie...' Sirius pouted jokingly. Remus looked at the box again, smiling.
'Wanna show me?' He grinned. Sirius nodded and fumbled with the rusty lock.
The lock clicked open and Sirius lifted the heavy lid.
The box was filled with all kinds of stuff. From photos to little necklaces and rings they'd given each other for a valentine sometime. Remus took out a photo that showed four awfully happy twelve year olds posing in front of a big red train. Remus smiled.
'This is-' his voice broke slightly. He looked at Sirius, receiving a beautiful smile full of love.
'I saved them for later... so ehm- technically now?' Sirius shifted his weight from one leg to the other nervously, looking at the ground.
Remus put the photo back and took Sirius face in his hands.
'That's absolutely adorable' he chuckled. Sirius smiled brightly, he stood on his toes and pressed a light kiss to Remus' lips who grinned in response.
'What else is in there?' Remus whispered, mentioning to the box with his head slightly.
'Well mostly photos-' Sirius stopped talking abruptly, remus had pushed some letters aside and there was a little box on the bottom of the chest. Sirius breathed deeply, that had been the last thing he'd wanted Remus to find.
'Okay...' he mumbled under his breath and he closed his eyes. Remus had a confused look on his face. Sirius took out the little box.
'Okay' he mumbled again, looking up at Remus. Never letting his eyes leave the beautiful brown ones, he got to one knee.
Sirius cleared his throat as Remus clapped his hands to his mouth.
'Remus I-' he blushed bright red. 'Ehm, Remus John Lupin-' an irritated grunt escaped Remus at the mention of his middle name, Sirius chuckled.
'Remus, I love you so damn much. You are the single most important thing in my life, so-' he cleared his throat. Remus was staring at him, eyes wide.
'Remus- would you marry me?' Sirius said as he opened the little box. Tears started rolling down Remus' cheeks, not being able to talk cause then he'd break down completely.
'If- if you want to of course...' Sirius brought his hand to the back of his neck, averting his eyes. He'd been planning this for months now, but he never really believed that Remus would say-
'Yes' Sirius eyes shot up again, to a beaming Remus. He wasn't sure if it had been Remus who'd said something, it had been so soft. 'Yes' Remus said again, laughing through his tears. Sirius face lit up.
'Really?' He asked before he could stop himself.
'Of course you dimwit!' Remus said while sinking to his knees in front of the other man. 'I love you'
Sirius flew into Remus' arms. 'I love you too, so fucking much Moony-'
Remus grinned so wide his cheeks started to hurt while tears ran down them. Sirius hadn't even bothered to put the thin, rose gold ring on Remus' finger.
They sat there for almost half an hour, hugging and happily crying. Whispering 'I love you' into each other's ears once in a while.

The wedding was two weeks later, they couldn't wait any longer. It wasn't big, just their closest friends and Remus' family. Sirius' family hadn't showed up, not that they had thought they would. So Minerva was the one to walk Sirius up to the altar. And Sirius was, of course, wearing a beautiful white dress.
