Chapter 3 - KNOWING

Bell rings

~Lunch Time~

Stomach's growling, everyone seems hungry. Sitting on a chair for hours is tiring too.

~Cafeteria~

Tons of people everywhere. Wherever you put your eyes on, all you can see are students from different faculties. Different kinds, from the rich ones, the bullies, nerds, athletes, cheerleaders, musicians, weirdos, and even the silent ones, they're all here to eat.

Aeden looked for an unoccupied table while holding a plate of Adobo fried rice in his hands. He soon then seated and started eating, occasionally scrolling on his phone.

His peacefulness soon plummets when Zale seated beside him, carrying a plate, planning to join him eat.

"Anong...ginagawa mo dito? Aeden asked, as he avoid both of their shoulders to meet.

"I think para kumain." Zale answered, giving off a mild chuckle as he moves further to Aeden.

Aeden keeps on moving away."But, why here?"

- "I don't know anyone here, except you. We're on the same class, seatmates, so I think I'll eat here."

"Uhm, maluwag don sa kabilang side." He knew that he had no other choice, and besides, it may be to harsh if he shooed Zale away.

- "Ohh. Ayaw mo 'kong katabi?"

"No, it's not like that. It's just...uhm..."

- "Come on, it's not the time to be awkward, besides we're classmates now."

Zale remained on his sit, and Aeden, it is really awkward for him having Zale sitting beside him.

They've been sitting for while now, but no one insisted to start another 'awkward' conversation. Until Zale...

"So, di talaga tayo mag-uusap?"

"Huh? What?" Aeden replied, he's busy on his phone. Or maybe he's trying to make himself look busy, to avoid interaction. To avoid looking at Zale's face.

*Zale chuckles* "How come na ayaw mo kong kausapin, eh yung titig mo sakin kanina sa jeep, it's like you wanted to devour me"

"Ako? Sa jeep? Anong sinasabi mo?"

He pretends that he knows nothing about what Zale had said. But deep down he's very uncomfortable having this kind of situation with the man that makes him feels different sort of things he can't explain.

"Nevermind. Go back on what you're
doing on your phone."

Zale just smiled, he knows that Aeden is trying to avoid to talk about what happened earlier, but he still insists. Well, It's natural in him to be friendly.

Silence once again.

While Zale is enjoying his food, Aeden is thinking about what Zale said back in the class when they are introducing themselves. It makes him think even more, that sentence that Zale said makes everything more complicated to him.

"Uhm, Zale."

*looks at Aeden while chewing* "Hmm?"

"Are you serious about... uhm... about what you said earlier?"

*Zale paused for a moment as he swallows his food* "Which one?"

"Well, you said that you like boys. Is it true?"
